Hi
I'm 8 weeks pregnant today, yesterday I had a small bleed so attended the local early Pregnancy unit where I had a scan was shown the baby on the monitor they showed me the heart bear said the size of baby was correct from dates but they said the sac was small I was in such as daze as my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage I didn't think to ask how small but they said it was not common for the sac to be small I feel they was telling me to prepare for a miscarriage but without saying so has anyone had this issue and gone on to have a healthy baby

Hiya

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having such a tough time.

I had a similar experience but around 6 weeks. Mine was slightly smaller than expected and I’m now 6 months pregnant. They did not seem optimistic at the time though!

But I guess it depends on how small the sac is? It should be on your scan photo or you could give them a call and ask?

I was told that when there is bleeding in early pregnancy, it is 50/50 on whether or not you have a miscarriage.

Good luck!

Hi
Thank you for replying, I'm not sure how small the sac is I do have all the paper work but it means very little to me I can't work it out even when using google, that's so lovely to hear your 6 months along give me some hope, I also felt didn't hold out much hope for me I guess it will be a long week till I go back

I was told that with dd2- they said the sac was misshapen and too small and I should wait to miscarry. She’s now 2, smart as a whip and absolutely perfect. I know it’s hard but stay positive xx

Thank you Royallyscrewed your message really does give me hope, it just seems so cruel as I have 2 children already 16 & 13 so for I was finished having children then we got the shock of me being pregnant took a few days to sink in but we was happy and excited and then for it to maybe snatch away I also had a miscarriage 7 years ago and said for that no more but this bean has shocked us but is so wanted

Thank you for all your replies there been no more bleeding since Thursday but I just hate the waiting the not knowing what happening in but I've notice that my breast are not as sensitive as before so I'm not sure if that's a sign Thursday just seems so far away I just have a feeling it will be bad news

I’m keeping everything crossed for you @goldenmother

Hi
So today I had my scan the baby was there with it's heart beat and growing to the size expected the sac is no longer an issue there now believe the bleed last week had pushed the sac down so all positive news there but they say I'm still having a bleed behind the sac which puts me at a high risk of miscarriage so I left my appointment feeling very confused as I was hoping to leave knowing one way or the other but I'm going with the positive my baby is there and growing

I think you have to take it day by day and today your baby is doing well which is great news.

Goldenmother · 14/11/2019 18:47

Thank you yes I'm focusing on the positive and will take it day by day with big fingers crossed
