Hi ladies,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good pregnancy book? I'd like one that starts from the beginning, from the UK and not too medical if possible.

I've also seen 'pregnancy for men' and wondered if this would be worth a little gift for my OH?

I read Expecting Better which was recommended on here. It's about risk and making informed decisions during pregnancy rather than about the pregnancy itself per se but well worth a read.

I've just had What to Expect When You're Expecting delivered today. It's a weighty tome and looks a bit bland so far. Hope I can get through it!

I'm super interested to hear other people's recommendations

How to grow a baby and push it out - Someone Hooper I think

I've got the pregnancy day by day book off amazon and it's a large book but it's a good read.
Brought my partner the pregnancy for men book and he loves it, not as detailed but its funny and light hearted but also explains how women can be during pregnancy so he understands a lot more of how I'm feeling. He loves laying in bed reading me out a funny line or two :)

Pregnancy for men is good but my DH preferred the hardback version of Pregnancy day by day for content. I quite like Positive Birthing as it describes the reality of the different stages of labour

Milli Hill 's' the positive birth book' is one I found a really useful and also often entertaining. More focused on birth itself than pregnancy but I read it in first trimester (from library) then went and bought a copy so I could easily revisit nearer the time.

Thanks for the recommendations. I think pregnancy for men will be a good purchase.

I had a sneaky look in the book shop on my lunch break today and whilst trying to be inconspicuous I managed to knock half a shelf of books off. The lady that helped me picked them up noticed what I was looking at and said she was a midwife and would recommend the how to grow a baby and push it out

😂😂😂
