Hi has anyone else been told this before? I went up today to the MAU as I been having headaches and dizzy spells and pain on my ribs.
They took blood and urine to test for pre eclampsia and monitored the baby whilst I was on the monitor his heartbeat dipped and an alarm went off, but apparently he was fine. I've now been told I need to have an urgent scan tomorrow and go in every single day for monitoring now I'm guessing till I have him? I didn't think to ask.

They also said if I get any headaches to go straight in right away regardless I'm just worried now they said my bloods looked ok and didn't say I had pre eclampsia but that the doctor has written up a plan for me now. Anyone else experienced this before? And when was your baby born too I'm not due until end of December

Not personally but a friend had preeclampsia and had to stay in hospital for a couple of months - her baby was born early. Sorry that you’re going through this x

Maybe buy a cheap blood sugar tester from Amazon, then when you feel this way test. If its below 4.0 then your blood sugar is low and you know you are not eating enough.

Sorry that was not meant for this thread, please ignore! Sorry you are not feeling well.

I had to go in every day for a while due to IUGR. In my case it was 'every day until further notice', and in the end it was every other day (and a scan every few days too). I found it really reassuring, and it meant that I made it to term (37 weeks exactly!) with everything fine.

I had pre eclampsia with my 1st and had to stay in untill blood pressure was stable then it was every day monitoring mabye your showing signs of it starting

anitagreen · 07/11/2019 22:00

@NotSoThinLizzy Was everything ok in the end? Was you induced etc I only just read up on it and it sounds really frightening

Made it to full term and went into labour naturally at 39+6

Did they tell you what the results of the test were? Most hospitals will review you carefully for preclampsia if you have 2 out of 3 symptoms. The baby heartbeat dipping as a one off isn’t an issue but sometimes with preclampsia and IUGR you can get regular heartbeat fluctuations.

@GrumpyHoonMain Hi no they didn't say anything the bloods just all this i am going up there about 9ish so I'll hopefully know more now but I hope it's not pre eclampsia
