I’m 12 weeks and using the hair tie trick to keep in my jeans for now but it’s becoming more uncomfortable.

I’ve got a load in the loft from last time but didn’t expect to need any for weeks

I'm on my third pregnancy and refused to wear maternity clothes until after 20 weeks every time (I'm a bit weird and superstitious!). I just switched to leggings as opposed to jeans and carried on wearing my normal clothes. For reference I wasn't very big in my second pregnancy but am huge in this one!

It was about 18 weeks, just felt more comfy. I used my old stuff to get by and then bought some new stuff when I had a proper bump this time.

By 20 weeks my jeans even with hair band were uncomfortable so switched to mat wear

12 weeks Blush

Much earlier 2nd time - I think by 14 weeks I had switched everything over, around when I told work colleagues. First pregnancy I didn’t really need any except jeans until well over 20 weeks.

Jean wise, about 10 weeks! But I was really bloated for a while.. but they were just comfier, so I stuck with them. I’m 21 weeks now & still in my normal tops although getting a bit stretched now! I wear a lot of loose fitting jumpers & tees when not pregnant, so they have bump room!

Just go comfort, it doesn’t matter Smile People are often bigger second time around!

Emmacb82 · 07/11/2019 13:46

I’m 11 weeks and so big already. I’m still just about squeezing into my jeans but with half the buttons undone 🤣 I live in my pyjamas at home as they are so much comfier. I will be in maternity trousers very soon and I didn’t expect that, way much earlier than last time!

After 22 weeks

ChipsAreLife · 08/11/2019 06:15

About 15/16 weeks maybe. I feel pregnant when first was 10 months though so not sure things had gone back properly yet! I found this bit hard though .. too big for my jeans but too small for mat jeans!

I wouldn't worry too much we are all different, just wear them if you feel uncomfortable

PeachesandPie · 08/11/2019 06:34

9 weeks for trousers! And that was with losing weight due to HG.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 08/11/2019 06:38

Im 9 weeks today and have abandoned all my normal jeans! Im currently wearing my post pregnancy clothes where maternity clothes were too big but normal clothes too small still. Also wearing lots of leggings and dress combos at work! I think there is a lot of bloating in the first trimester hopefully it settles down at 12 weeks

MsChatterbox · 08/11/2019 08:09

At 6 weeks my jeans ripped so I decided to just get mat jeans instead of regular! They've been great with all the early bloating. But I know I'll probs need to get some more when I gain weight on legs etc! My bloat makes me look 4 months pregnant so I'm having to wear baggy tops too to hide it!

farmmumtomillie · 08/11/2019 08:17

I got huuuge quick with my first. I mean. Huge! so I'm fully expect to be in maternity clothes will before 12 weeks!
I was bigger than most at my 12 week scan who were there for their 20 week scan 🙈 i had two functions/weddings before we announced and i took a lot of changes and the addition of a scarf to hide the bump 😳
This time around though i don't think we're going to really hide it! Just go with the flow.
