So I'm 8 weeks pregnant and whilst I've not got any morning sickness some smells are making me super super nauseous. I moved into a new house a few days ago and the smell of it is making me want to vomit everywhere😩 nobody else seems to be able to smell anything but I can. I don't know if it's from when they'd painted the house prior to me moving in or from when the carpets were cleaned but I don't know what to do. I tried cleaning everything down with a berry scented zoflora and that worked for the first day but now the smell of that is making me nauseous😩😂 does anyone have anything they can recommend I do? Is there a a fragrance that's unlikely to make me feel like this, I know everyone's different but I'll try anything I'm desperate☹️ tia

This will pass. I had it with my first and i could smell our leather sofa and my partner was like no you can't but I couldn't even stand sitting on it. I found strong but very fresh smells helped. Lemons, soap, Or thinks like vicks vapour rub, find something thag you can stand and smell it when you smell the other bad odours. But the smell aversion does pass once the sickness tends to pass so I hope you'll start to settle into your new home soon, pregnancy is rough isn't it!! Smile

Unfortunately it’s really normal. A heightened sense of smell is experienced by most woman in early pregnancy & it very often makes you feel or be sick.

If you have a search on here for threads on the weirdest things that make you feel sick.. there’s a fair few threads! I couldn’t stand the smell of water in my first trimester Confused The shower, tap, rain.. all made me sick! And the fridge was a no go, as was washing powder, hand soap, my shampoo, cleaning products.. smell of meat or peppers cooking, coffee..

Thankfully for me, it largely stopped by 16 weeks. It’s still more heightened than normal but it’s OK! I’ve read some people use essential oils they can stand the smell of dabbed under their nose?! Never an option for me as that would just make me sick too!

Thanks everyone! Seems to be a tiny bit better these last few days! I'll try a few different smellies!
