Confusing pregnancy.

Hiya,
I will be 5 weeks tomorrow going off my last period. I had positive pregnancy tests on 12& 13DPO. Followed by two negative (one of which was from my doctor's.) I retested 5 days later and got 2 positive. Because of all this I had a scan today. They couldn't see anything but said this isn't unusual giving how early I am. My womb lining was very thick though and she could see which ovary I ovulated from. I am to have another scan in about 10days and to be referred to the early pregnancy unit.

Has this happened to anyone else? It's driving me mad not knowing x

Hi this happened to me I was scanned at 5weeks 5 days due to having an ectopic in March and they couldn't see anything just thick lining of my womb and like you which ovary I ovulated from I went back a week later and there was the baby in the correct place am now 16 weeks so it's all good signs for you xx

Thank you so much for this. I'm a mess at the moment with it all. Definitely reassuring that you where a week ahead of me and nothing was seen! The internet says you should definitely see something at 4+4 days! Nothing like real life experiences x

They epu tell you they wont see anything until your hcg levels are 1500 and mine start off low so take longer to rise so there is still hope and really good sign is the thinking keep me updated xx

Early pregnancy unit rang and said no need for a scan but to go get bloods done today at 4.10! I feel pregnant so not really doubting it but it's just so confusing x

I think what the internet says should show on a scan and what can actually be seen on a scan are very different, maybe a perfect scan would show something at 4 weeks but at 5 weeks you are still very early on to be seeing anything so please don't listen to what the internet says. I had an early scan at 6 weeks and there was nothing visible, I had another at 8 and there was a little sac and heartbeat.
I now have a 10 week old baby!

Fantastic. Doctor's urine tests still coming back negative!! This was at 4pm after I had to drink alot for scan though. Blood test done and will get it tomorrow. Although I have took 5 of these, all positive. Bottom being today's and the top 2 being Monday. X

I'm going through similar at the moment in that docs preg test negative (nurse basically accused me of lying about being pregnant!) and all my home ones positive! Only 4 weeks today though but getting bloods due to medical history etc. Done yesterday but not getting sent of until today

How long have you got to wait for the results?

Doctor's test are so unreliable. No I have PCOS so the scan was booked in to check on my ovaries. While I was getting a scan they just doubled it up for me. Hope everything is ok with you x

Did you doctor not do a blood test? I had a scan at 6 weeks and couldn't see anything externally only internally. Went back at 8 weeks and saw baby and all was fine. Good luck x

I think some of the tests used at GP aren't as sensitive. I used the same ones as you, I will attach pic. I am now 20+4. The line is getting darker too which is a good sign. I reckon its just too early to see anything on a scan. Your pregnancy at this stage is just a bunch of cells multiplying. You have technically only been pregnant for around 3 weeks if you think about it. I had a scan at 7+3 and just saw a tiny blob with a heartbeat but even then it's not guaranteed to see anything so early.

Oops, forgot to attach the pic like I said I would of my tests like yours. The faintest one was taken on day period due and the darkest one was a week later. Now 20+4

@Killerqueen9 those tests are exactly like mine. Pregnancy finally confirmed at doctors. HCG levels came back at 475

Re Drs tests, I recently had one at 8wks 6 days. It came back very very faint, and I we also made out to be a bit delusional. I had had strong positives at home from 4 weeks. I had a scan straight away which confirmed I was right.

@Letitpea those doctor's tests are such a worry. I think know if I was coming or going!! X
