Ate fish, was sick

Woke up at 4am to vomit after a late supper that may have included undercooked fish, now I’m worried.

There’s a vomiting bug going round so it could be that but I feel fine otherwise.

I’m 20 weeks. Should I call the midwife helpline or GP surgery when they’re open or just see how it goes?

I'd just see how it goes. Keep your fluids up. If you feel like eating stuck to carbs or maybe even soup. Avoid fatty, spicy food

It's much more likely to be a virus than anything you ate, and nothing to be done now anyway, other than let it run its course and stay hydrated. Drink plenty, eat a little of bland carbs if you can stomach it, rest.

Don’t worry, fish is one of the safer foods to eat undercooked, so unless it was stinking and obviously rotten I’d say you’ve picked up a bug.

Make sure you’re hydrated and try to rest.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate the advice.

Are you in the UK? If so raw fish is safe as most fish we have available tends to be frozen first. This is probably more likely to be a bug or the third trimester acid related nausea starting early. mine started from 16 weeks and I often wake up in the middle of the night with vomit in my mouth - try propping yourself up with pillows at night and it should help.
