Asking the gender at scan (14 weeks)

I already had a scan at 11 weeks which was very clear / good position and due to have the Nuchal fold/etc scan next week when will be 14 weeks - now I know they may not be able to see or fully commit either way but would it be frowned upon if I asked ? I’ve heard they may not want to say as some communities favour boys and I don’t want to look like that’s all I’m bothered about - I just want baby to be healthy but it would be good to know if possible - has anyone else asked this early and been told? I know can get a gender scan at 16 weeks plus which I may do if not :)
Thanks!

I had a private gender scan at 16 weeks. The first thing she told me she was going to take measurements and if she believed I wasn't 16 weeks, even by a day, she wouldn't say anything and I would have to make a new appointment.
I don't think there's any harm asking but I wouldn't get your hopes up on finding out now. Even at the 16 week scan, they tell you it's not a 100% guarantee.

I was 13weeks 5 days when I had my NHS scan and they sonographer told me when I asked if she could tell told me there not allowed to say as they can be wrong as it's still developing until 15 weeks I even asked 9f she could take a anall guess and she just told me they cant not allowed so I wouldnt build your Hope's up to much, I had private scan at 15 weeks and 5 days to get gender so you might gave to pay privately amd there are some clinics that do it from 15 weeks xx

During my 12 week nhs scan they told me one thing was pointing towards a girl - the nub. They said it's not a proven method - but they would say 60% chance of it being a girl.

I had a private scan at 17 weeks and they confirmed it's a girl. Then at 20 week scan the nhs told me again that it's a girl. She's never seemed to be in the wrong position. I also had a random scan at 25 weeks, where they again told me girl ! Would be funny if it's a boy 😂
