Hey ladies,

I need some advice.i have been to the doctors and been diagnosed with Haemophilus Influenza Chest Infection. I have almost finished my second lot of Antibiotics and my chest is still feeling tight. I am still coughing and blowing my nose a lot, the only thing that is better is the colour of what's coming out!... I am currently 13 weeks pregnant and absolutely terrified that I'm going to lose the baby after reading everything about the condition online.

I just wanted to know whether anyone else has had this whilst being pregnant and was the baby ok.

Xx

Hi @Tina1991 - we're sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly. We're just bumping this thread for you in case there are any Mumsnetters around to give you some advice and support. Flowers

Sorry to hear about that - I can't help with info and can see what you mean about the google...must be really scary and upsetting. Really hope all is well with you.

what has the doctor / midwife said about it?

Tina1991 · 08/11/2019 12:32

The doctor just gave me antibiotics for the second week. They say just stay away from the internet but I can't help it. It's now 4 weeks into feeling like this.

Haemophilus is just one of the common bugs that cause a chest infection. So essentially you caught a bug and it can take a while to clear. It sounds like you are improving though, which is good.
If you're concerned, go back to your gp and ask all the questions you have. Don't google it.
Hope you feel better soon
