Does anyone know where to find information on the various maternity wards in greater London. I will probably use NHS, but thinking of maybe looking into a private wing in an NHS hospital.

I know when looking into hospitals for dd's birth - Dh ( who used to be an information services manager - for a hospital trust) told me to look at Dr Fosters good birth guide.

There's also a website called something like birthchoice.co.uk which I found quite helpful. Anecdotally Guys's and St Thomas's nice mid-wife led birth centre (and across the floor from medical unit so easy transfer if necessary) but scary midwife shortages. Chelsea and Westminster DIRTY and poor post-natal care. Queen Charlotte's lovely. Have heard the Homerton is good if you are in East London. St George's Tooting OK. Central Middlesex (think that's the name) another DIRTY one, take your own disinfectant wipes.

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. Very interested to read that I have the right to choose the hospital... interesting. But I wonder how much red tape there is.

Anyway, thanks again.
