Second pregnancy after preeclampsia

I thought it would be nice to have a thread where us ladies who are currently pregnant for the second, third or fourth time after a preeclampsia pregnancy can chat.

My story...I started getting swelling around 28 weeks with my DS who is now 2 (thinking it was a normal symptom). At my 36 week midwife appointment she found protein in my urine as well as a high blood pressure reading. I was immediately taken to hospital and was scanned (where they found DS wasn't growing properly due to my placenta failing and he was also breach). I was taken for emergency c section the following morning where DS was born weighing 5lb 6oz at 36 weeks. He's now a very cheeky, healthy little boy.

I'm now 27 weeks pregnant, after two miscarriages since DS. I'm due to see the consultant at 28 weeks. Baby is (according to midwife) currently measuring small, so hopefully all is ok. I'm getting a bit of swelling now and again in my face, hands and feet. But think it's "normal pregnancy swelling" so far.

Hi,

Nice idea.

Had severe preeclampsia in my 2nd pregnancy in 2016. Didn’t feel well for all pregnancy to be honest, had once midwife find my blood pressure being on the high side, another time the pharmacist found it high( went in to check because I wasn’t feeling well), went to triage and sent home as they said it measured fine with them.

31 weeks had app in hospital for other reasons, told my consultant I felt I was way too swelled, she said it was fine, 2 days later I’m in triage thinking I was loosing my plug, they found high blood pressure and proteine in urine. Was recovered, every day tested really bad on my levels, feeling way worse, I had the feeling I was going to die. At 32 weeks I started having pain in my right side and blurred vision, doctors decide for emergency C-section.
Baby was 2,500 grams. My baby passed away the following day due to other complications.

Had another baby since then and it’s been overwhelming also because of the fear of preeclampsia. Went in a couple of times to be checked. Had aspirin and was monitored in second trimester and weekly on my third. Baby girl born well, no preeclampsia.

Pregnant with 4th, 14+4 weeks. I’m on 150 aspirin, I check occasionally my BP and I think I’ll buy the sticks to check my urine( did this my last pregnancy).

Hope we can all make it to delivery safely without preeclampsia.
