Pregnant Women's Moan Thread

Thought I'd start a thread to unload all of our general moans, be they rational or totally and utterly irrational Grin

I'll go first.

30 weeks now and more than ready for the next 10 weeks to be over. Suffering with PGP which means that if I move around too much I'm fucked, and interestingly, if I don't move around enough I'm equally fucked. For added irony, the line between the 2 is very slim Hmm

My iron is borderline and I'm also exhausted after being at home all week with 3dcs who were on half term, so have a pile of work to catch up on (I'm freelance and normally work while they're at school). Oh and we have been renovating for the last few weeks, and thankfully have finished now but the house is a shit tip because of it and it's stressing me out because I can't launch into the cleaning too hard with the PGP.

Icing on the cake is that for the last few days, whatever position the baby is in, every movement feels like I'm being bloody jabbed sharply in the ribs/side by an MMA fighter. And don't even start me on the fanny daggers Hmm

Phew! Feel a bit lighter now Grin Come and sympathise/commiserate/share your woes with me!

Hey!! Smile I'll be 38+5 weeks, will be 9 days before my due date.

They're trying to persuade me to have the ecv but I'm not sure about it

SleepingStandingUp · 27/11/2019 19:01

What's that?

badfurday · 27/11/2019 19:45

Hey all. I'm 39+3 today. Had about 3 hours sleep last night and feeling really strange today. Can't put my finger on it, just not right. I have aching in my thighs sort of like growing pains, and everything feels like an effort. Last week I had an energy spurt and was nesting like made, but just feel like I can't move today. Getting up the stairs and putting my daughter to bed get like climbing Everest!

Am wondering if labour is near...😐

LHMB · 27/11/2019 20:20

Something they do to try and get the baby to turn.

SleepingStandingUp · 27/11/2019 22:40

Ah OK @LHMB , I've heard of that but it's not something they really talk about with twins 😂

@badfurday sorry no idea, I've only gone t o labour once and I def had no warning

LHMB · 28/11/2019 08:48

SleepingStandingUp in two minds about it, it's supposed to be quite painful and they said it's not even that certain it will work, as I'm past 36 weeks and they said if the baby hasn't flipped into head down by 36 weeks it's very unlikely to as there's not enough room in there now. Mine is in a very odd position that they apparently don't often see at this stage and vaginal delivery is not really possible. Trust me to be different! Although I've been dreading the birth for months as my last was horrific and nearly resulted in mine and Ds' death so maybe it's for the best I need a c section this time.

SleepingStandingUp · 28/11/2019 12:40

I think it would be really reasonable for you to opt for a C Sec under the circs

GinUnicorn · 28/11/2019 12:47

15 weeks and aching like mad when trying to sleep. I’m so tired!

LHMB · 28/11/2019 15:10

Thanks x

Taibhse · 28/11/2019 16:39

LHMB deffo reasonable to opt for the section in your situation. I've known a few people who have had the ECV and it has been a bit painful and then their babies turned breech again the next day Hmm

DD2 was transverse til 36 weeks and I did loads of spinning babies exercises and eventually she turned and I thought we were home and dry. Til I was 8cm dilated in labour and she literally did a 180 degree turn in the space of 5 minutes, ended up breech and I ended up with an emcs Shock Hmm

Badfurday exciting!! Could be the start Grin

Thank God for this thread 🤒 I'm 6weeks and my goshh do I feel like utter complete crap

LHMB · 28/11/2019 18:21

Taibhse oh no, that must have been awful. My friend said she's heard evc is quite painful. Thank you x

hazandduck · 28/11/2019 19:38

I’ve found my people! And can relate to almost every symptom on here 🙈

30 weeks today and so done with pregnancy! We always talked about 3 but now we have both agreed 2 is it. I feel so guilty because I genuinely loved my pregnancy with my DD and had that glowy happy pregnant woman thing going on. This time I literally felt sick from about 4 weeks before I even did a test! Nausea lasted til about 24 weeks, just tapered off in time for the worst sciatica and exhaustion to kick in!! I also have the toddler mum guilt, she turned 2 last week and I hate that I can’t pick her up or even read her a bed time story atm because the weight of her on my stomach really hurts. My bump aches. My back aches. My arse kills in my right cheek if I don’t move enough or if I move too much...it’s a thin exhausting bloody line! It’s actually worse than labour sometimes. Such a sharp pain.

Then a few weeks ago the exhaustion peaked so bad I couldn’t lift my arms or head off the pillow...yup anaemic. 😒 So I’m on the iron tablets which I had with DD but I think the exhaustion is so much worse this time because Dd is just so demanding atm. Love her to pieces but she doesn’t stop and has always been an amazing sleeper until the last couple of months.

People say that maddening ‘you think you’re tired now wait til the baby comes,’ saying you me and I just want to scream at them. When the baby is here and not inside my body at least I can actually get on the floor and play with my daughter, I can cuddle her and carry her properly and I can hand this new baby to someone else whilst I go for a walk or do something equally harmless that doesn’t make me dizzy, breathless and ache all over!

I miss being able to spring off the sofa. Have had almost constant thrush 😫 and yep doing the stupid dribble wees as well that are sooo unsatisfying.

One thing helping me through is window shopping for clothes to wear next summer when I hopefully won’t feel so much like a whale! DH calls me ‘Beachy’ as in beached whale 😂

Epic rant over! Hope everyone else isn’t too miserable x

Taibhse · 28/11/2019 21:57

haza yy to the worse than labour arse cheek pain 😖

I feel really poorly today, stomach dodgy and feel so sick and hot

Pink09 · 29/11/2019 14:20

Guys I've had an achy tummy for a weeks now l, as in if I try and walk but it aches more and I'm bent over. So it has resulted in me being in bed this whole time.

I've been admitted to hospital for vomiting anything I tried to consume and before I was discharged I told them my belly still hurts a bit (which they said is normal and due to all the vomiting). I also had a scan and everything was fine with the baby.

But it's now 4days later and my belly still aches and I still cannot remove myself from my bed🤕

It's my first pregnancy and 6weeks + 6days in and I'm unsure what's normal for my body and what isn't but eitherway everyone on this still seems to manage getting up and doing things.

I'm a bit stuck on what to do and sort of just praying for a breezy 2nd and 3rd trimester 🙇🏽‍♀️. Does anyone know if this is normal??

Pink09 · 29/11/2019 14:23

Or what I can do that'll help??

SleepingStandingUp · 29/11/2019 20:56

Could be you've tore a muscle and just needs some extra rest? Maybe rest the weekend, and speak to someone Monday if no better? You can't take anti inflammatories but you might be able to use the creams, doc gave me some for my tendinitis but you need to check as it's tummy

Pink09 · 30/11/2019 10:38

@SleepingStandingUp Thank youu, I'll see how I go during the weekend.

I think it may actually be because I wasn't eating enough, so I'm currently trying to eat more but I'll have to keep an eye on my belly over the weekend

hazandduck · 01/12/2019 08:16

That’s tough @Pink09 I don’t have experience of your situation but I have experienced cramps in the first trimester in all my pregnancies. They felt like period cramps sometimes really intense! Hope you feel better soon.

theghostofmargerykempe · 01/12/2019 09:39

Yes, @hazandduck, so much this! The difference between a born baby waking me up by crying at 3am and an unborn baby waking me up by kicking me directly in the diaphragm at 3am is that there is at least some possibility of soothing/quieting the former, or failing that handing her over to DP for a while! :)

theghostofmargerykempe · 01/12/2019 09:49

40+6 today, have just been booked in for an induction in a week's time and am equal parts frustrated with myself for not having had the baby yet and terrified of everything I've heard about inductions being both seriously painful and more likely to lead to birth injuries. Trying to stay upbeat by researching for positive induction stories, but finding it difficult!

My panicking is being made much worse by the fact that we'll have DP's entire family coming to visit us over Christmas; the plan was that we'd have a one-month old baby when this happened which was challenging enough, but it looks like we'll actually have a two-week-old instead...

hazandduck · 01/12/2019 11:23

Best of luck for your induction @theghostofmargerykempe I wasn’t induced but if it makes any difference I did technically have ‘intervention,’ Dd was delivered by ventouse and honestly it was absolutely fine. It was actually a relief. She was back to back and the pushing stage just felt so satisfying and they popped a cap on her head to help her come out after just a couple of pushes. Also a friend of mine was induced recently and she had an epidural that she could control with a button and because she was monitored the whole time had much better access to pain relief compared to myself left to labour at home and then finally told when I needed an epidural that I didn’t have time and had to push! You can take control of your birth, write everything down and make your DP stand up for you! How exciting your baby will be here so so soon ❤️

theghostofmargerykempe · 01/12/2019 12:03

Awww, thank you @hazandduck! That is really helpful to hear; I think it will be such a relief just to get things underway after waiting and being stressed out for so long. I'm so glad the ventouse went well for you and that your DD arrived safely. We've written up all our birth preferences and interventions like that are definitely included if necessary, it's just so stressful waiting to find out if they will be needed or not. Hope everything goes well for you too and that the next few months go as smoothly as possible.

Pink09 · 01/12/2019 13:01

Thank you @hazandduck , I'm working on it
