Which doctors do I need to tell

Hi everyone,
I got my BFP four days ago but it's early and I still haven't missed AF yet.

I'm feeling in a bit of a head spin about what I do in a few days when it feels 'real'.
I know I can self refer to midwife service from my GP but I am also under gynaecologist consultants care who had prescribed me metformin (PCOS) and who I am due to see in 2 1/2 weeks to discuss further treatment for ttc.

So what do I do now? Do I still go to my gynae appt? Do I need to tell them I'm pregnant before I turn up? Do I need to tell my GP about the pregnancy due to prior gynae issues?

Advice very much appreciated

Hey so I was also under a gynea due to pcos when I found out I was pregnant r I just cancelled my next appointment with the gyno as didn't need to see them anymore. If you can self refer then you dont need to see GP. Phone and self refer yourself they will probally ask your lmp date as this is what they go of and book you in for when your around 8 weeks. Congratulations xx

Congratulations! No need to see your GP, just self refer to midwife as soon as possible. You should aim for first midwife appointment at about 8-10 weeks. Suggest you ring secretary of private gynae consultant & explain that you are just pregnant & get them to check advice consultant. There are different thoughts about what to do with metformin, so get their advice about when to stop it. You probably don’t need an actual appointment with them.
Tell the midwife about your PCOS & that you have been taking metformin. Again there is some variation about what advice you will be given but they are likely to suggest checking for gestational diabetes later in the pregnancy.
