Multiple Birth appointment

Hey,

I am 8wks pregnant and had my first midwife appointment last week. I've been booked in to see the multiple birth midwife with no explanation and was wondering if this comes as standard? Tried to get hold of my midwife to ask but to no avail. Thank you

Is it just your next standard appointment? I’d guess she was the available midwife for that period. I would doubt the midwife you saw divined subconsciously you were likely to have a multiple birth...

How many dc do you have already?

Sorry OP am unclear - are you expecting twins? Or more?

I had a scan at 10w and discovered it was twins, my care then changed to a different team and I had to have my 12w scan rearranged etc as they are different for twins.

If you are not, either an admin error or she is covering someone else's shifts. The multiples MWs at my local hosp do other births too as there are not enough multiple births to keep them all busy.

Call and ask. Weird to have made an additional appointment with no explanation. They may have got you mixed up with someone expecting multiples.

Hey, i don't know what i am expecting (not had any scans yet). Thanks for your help, likely an admin error as you say but i only had my first midwife appointment on Friday. Sorry for all the silly questions, first pregnancy and overly worrying!

I'll call in the morning, they are only open 9-5 mon-fri for apps and tried calling the midwife but it just kept on ringing
