Hi all,

I guess I'm just here to gauge other people's perspective.

35 weeks pregnant here and contemplating not going into work today (this is my last week before maternity leave) due to pure fatigue. I am laying on the sofa having not done makeup, hair or even showered. The thought of it just makes me cry as I am feeling so so so exhausted. I haven't been able to sleep due to spd.

I have only had two days off full time work since becoming pregnant. Really don't want to go in today, am I taking the piss?

It's not labour intensive but I manage a staff of 20 so it can be very emotionally draining.

Yes, you’re tired, not ill. Go to work.

There is a big difference between fatigue and tiredness. Be aware any sickness leave might trigger maternity leave to start early. If you are struggling to have a shower, don't punish yourself and stay home. It is ok, just call them early and give work a fair warning so they can organise cover.

I have forced myself to shower and I'm going in! I can do this.

I was out of hospital yesterday after a couple of days admitted. I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and shattered but I don't want to start maternity leave yet, I'm going to power through for another week because they can start your mat leave early if you phone in sick after a certain point.

You can do this, one foot in front of the other and crash when you get home!

Wtf @POTTERINGALONG? Grow some fucking compassion.

This is exactly why people burn out. If you were too tired to shower this morning, you're not well enough to manage 20 people. Look after yourself OP. Whatever it is you do for a living, it isn't more important than your health!
