As title. I’m 8dp5dt, about 3 weeks 5 days, following FET of our very last. I have POI so am unlikely to get pregnant again.
My beautiful DD(1.5) (also IVF) is sick with a very high temp.
I’m taking very good care of her but am so worried that whatever bug she has could be affecting the pregnancy.
This is a normal situation, right? Normal mothers, every day, get exposed to all sorts via existing little germ vectors whilst pregnant with no. 2 or 3? And all is well?
I had awful anxiety in my pregnancy with DD. Did you have a sick toddler in very early pregnancy and all was ok? Thank you

Baby will be fine. You need to make sure of you get sick you take good care of yourself.

My toddler had all horrible sickness bug during my early weeks and HFM later on. We've both had chest infections too. Baby is fine but the GP kept saying o had to make sure I kept my fluids up and rested as much as I could if I was ill

Sorry, for clarification, I’ve been getting BFPs since 5dp5dt. Bloods are on Tuesday but today, right now, I am pregnant.

Baby will be fine. I also had a FET second pregnancy and my first child was sick for the first 6 months of pregnancy including with bacterial infections, sepsis and meningitis. The second pregnancy went fine and baby is now a healthy 1 year old trying to walk and chat

I had norovirus 2 days after finding out I was pregnant (11dpo I think) and I now have a 4 month old on my boob! I just made sure I took paracetamol to keep my temp down and rested/hydrated as much as possible. Your body will protect baby if you do get ill (fingers crossed you don't), try not to stress about it to much, I know that's easier said than done. I hope you have a lovely straightforward pregnancy x

Oh my goodness, twicker. What a horrendously difficult time that must have been for you. Thank you for the reassurance, I need to keep this in perspective, of course.

flaps thank you so much, that’s helped. My body will protect it 👍 enjoy your little nurseling 😊

I had gastro at 6 weeks (GP sent me to hospital with a suspected ectopic due to the symptoms!), DS1 then had HFM about 2 weeks later and when I was 20 weeks he had chicken pox! Various virus type bits in between.

DS2 is 6 months now and the picture of health! I'd get your flu jab as early as possible if you can but otherwise it's fairly standard when you have a toddler!

Best of luck.

Oh wow sunshinegirl, you really had a tricky time of it. Just showered vomit off of myself and DD (who is now sleeping), so it’s reassuring to hear your experience. Will be a miracle if I escape this! Thank you

I know not quite the same but as AWFUL as a sickness bug is, it’s not hugely dissimilar to Hyperemesis which I’ve had. I’ve been ridiculously sick, my entire body hurt from the effort. The bug itself can’t harm baby and nor can the vomiting unless you become dehydrated. Again, that’s more a concern for your health.. if you do catch it bless you, keep an eye on your water intake and don’t be afraid to get checked out if worried. Re-other illness, they are pants in pregnancy but baby will be fine. I’ve so far battled HG, a shocker of a cold, chest infection, steroids for it glaring up my asthma.. just waiting for the next thing to hit!

Sending healthy thoughts!
