I lost my show at 3am on Tuesday, been getting period type pains since, it’s now Saturday, I lost a larger amount of my show yesterday which was a lot darker and I’ve been getting period type pains (really painful ones) and back ache all week, still no sign of baby, still no sign of my waters breaking, nothing. Do you think I have much longer to wait? Can’t cope with these pains anymore, I’m 38+4

My waters never broke untill I was actually in hospital ready to push.. are your pains getting closer together? Time them as when they do you will need to ring in ,
I would say its probally not far off if they are really painfull already. Have a walk about, bounce on a ball if you have one etc see if it helps move things along x

@boymummy3 they are really random and not worth timing as sometimes they are 5 minutes sometimes it can be every half an hour, but it’s been like this for 4 days now and i can’t stand it anymore

Oh I feel for you I was like this for around a week or so before my 2nd made his appearance. It's different for everyone but the day I went into labour I woke up with no pains or nothing I felt absolutely fine 1 day late and thought well it isnt going to happen untill 5:30pm that night and it hit me with a vengeance lol.

Try some paracetamol and a nice bath see if it helps to ease it. And fingers crossed your not waiting too long to meet your baba xx

@Boymummy3So when I’m in labour I’ll know about it? is this early/slow labour what I’m feeling then?

It does sound like early labour unfortunately. But on the plus side it does mean that things are moving in the right direction so hopefully it won't take too much longer before you're in established labour

Boymummy3 · 02/11/2019 11:16

@AmyCarys23 oh you will definitely know about it when your in established labour the only problem is everyone is different so I have quick labours.. others have long labours so it's just going to depend what your body wants to do.. you could be in slow labour just keep an eye on the pains etc and obviously time them if/when they become closer together. :) x

I was like that for 3 days why don't u ring see if they will check how dilated you are they will also give u a sweep at same time if you ask and will help get things moving. Also sex, spicy food and big walk up a very steep hill/mountain.

mrsed1987 · 02/11/2019 11:50

Id ring maternity and get checked. I had a show on a Wednesday then nothing until period type pains all monday. My waters broke at 23.30pm and when i got to the hospital at midnight i was 8cm!

AmyCarys23 · 02/11/2019 13:10

They won’t check I’ve asked and they won’t give me a sweep until I’m 40+1

Anymore than 4 in an hour and ring again if it's more than that they should check you
