I am 33 weeks, when do I need to buy a stroller/pram?

This is my third, but its been a few years so I forget how many weeks ahead do you need to buy a pram/buggy? I think we will go with bugaboo chameleon. Do they come fast, or does it take weeks? Just want to make sure we don't leave it too long and then don't have it for when the baby arrives. We don't have our old stroller anymore.

I’m nearly 22 weeks and I’ve already bought my pram...a Venicci one.
We were told that they just need 24 hours notice to get the pram to us as they’re happy to store until closer to due date.

I guess as long as it gets to you before the baby arrives it doesnt matter when you buy it?

So whatever the company says about delivery times

Boymummy3 · 01/11/2019 13:32

Check with the company on their delivery times... check reviews to make sure the delivery times are actually correct. And if worried maybe order it now? X

Whenever the one you want comes up on eBay/gumtree etc. I bought a bugaboo cameleon 3 for my youngest for £100 - in brilliant condition and included footmuff, raincover, car seat adapters etc. Have just sold it on 10 months later for £170!

welshweasel · 01/11/2019 13:35

Oh and in wouldn’t buy the cam again, it’s a really annoying pram!

crazymuseummumtobe · 01/11/2019 13:44

We got ours the day of the 12 week scan!

We were in John Lewis, it was £300 down to £200 (display model, MaxiCosi Zelia), had £80 of that in vouchers, and we wheeled it home there and then!

I own a baby shop
Totally depends what you want.
Popular colour ways often go out of stock and we advise 6 weeks but even then sometimes it takes longer.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 01/11/2019 14:03

We got ours at about 21 weeks as the one I had my eye on was on sale at half price.

anonnancy · 01/11/2019 14:30

I guess it doesn't matter as long as you can get it delivered before baby is here.

I ordered mine when I was 13/14 weeks lol x

tisonlymeagain · 01/11/2019 14:31

Ordered it when I saw what I wanted on offer - different shops/brands/models have different lead times. Some are available next day, some can take a month or two. We've put down a deposit, set a date and won't pick it up until a few weeks before baby is due.

Nat6999 · 01/11/2019 14:33

I got mine when I was about 34 weeks, bought it in the January sales, Britax travel system from John Lewis.

jomaIone · 01/11/2019 16:47

I ordered mine off Mothercare website and it came next day delivery....

jomaIone · 01/11/2019 16:50

John Lewis not Mothercare!

Dinosauraddict · 01/11/2019 17:55

I've got an iCandy on order with an estimated 6-8 week delivery time. I'm 21 weeks. My DH was born prem at 30 weeks, so we intend to have everything fully ready by then!

Buyitinbamboo · 01/11/2019 18:07

Depends on where you buy from. We ordered one from an online store and it took them 4 weeks to say actually they wouldn't have it for another 4 months. So we recorded directly from manufacturer and it was here within 4 days

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 01/11/2019 18:39

I brought mine at about 24 ish weeks when toys r us were flogging stuff. I guess it depends what you want, if you can get it at a good price and how comfortable you are getting closer to your due date allowing for potential delivery times. As long as you have a car seat before baby is born thats the key bit

Angelinthenightx · 01/11/2019 18:56

I got bugaboo at mothercare, came in a week i got mine when i was 24wks as was on offer.

Cauliflower82 · 02/11/2019 07:35

I would order now - it’s currently on sale pretty much everywhere. I downloaded a voucher 10% off for mamas and papas and for the Cameleon grey one with black chassis for approx £660, had been £919.
