Worst sickness triggers?!

I'm currently in my first trimester and experiencing awful nausea and aversions to pretty much everything!

The weirdest thing at the moment that I can't stand the smell of is my own sofa Grin it has been so bad recently that there's been times I can't even look at it!

What were/are you strangest things that trigger your sickness?

Steak! Which is heartbreaking as it would always be my first choice of meat. I'm currently 39 weeks and still cannot stand it!

Goodebe · 31/10/2019 18:58

Hand soap... three Yeats later I still feel sick if I smell a certain one 😫

fancytiles · 31/10/2019 19:05

I went from being OBSESSED with ice lollies to literally hating them 😂 and I was pregnant over the summer

ShirleyPhallus · 31/10/2019 19:06

Zips
Keys
Coins
Basically anything metally
The inside of my bag was enough to make me hurl, just awful
But the worst was cling film. I cannot stand the smell now.

Not a smell, but any stories involving poo also make me gag

Magpiefeather · 31/10/2019 19:09

Meatballs . Even thinking of the taste makes me gag now. I don’t think I’ll ever eat them again Sad

Pinkblueberry · 31/10/2019 19:10

HD tv.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 31/10/2019 19:10

Coffee!

OH used to buy flavoured chicken breast slices for sandwiches. If the pack was open, I couldn't even go in the fridge without gagging.

That's worn off slightly now I'm just past 12w but yes, 100% coffee. 🤢

ShirleyPhallus · 31/10/2019 19:12

@MarshmallowsOnToast yes to both of those!! Especially if the coffee was in a reusable cup that had been through the dishwasher

The chicken thing - I still can’t eat cold meat if the pack has been open longer than a day, I can taste the fridge on it

putputput · 31/10/2019 19:13

The twirlywoos theme tune! I had months of horrendous sickness where I couldn't do anything with DD apart from placate her with way too much screen time. Hearing it will trigger nausea instantly!

PhannyPharts · 31/10/2019 19:32

Omelette 🤢

Had a bad one in 1997.

Never again

Moongirl10 · 31/10/2019 20:35

My chewable prenatal vitamin 🤢 just thinking about it makes me feel sick. I also crave foods then as soon as I’ve satisfied my craving the thought of that food makes me nauseous.

Bol87 · 31/10/2019 20:39

Water was my weirdest one.. rain, shower, tap.. could not bear the smell Confused thankfully it passed & I can now shower without throwing up!

Also the smell of most things cooking. Ate a lot of sandwiches cheese sandwiches.

I’m 20 weeks now and while I can eat a much more varied diet, I still have quite bad food aversions! I cannot stand chocolate or cake or biscuits in pregnancy.. probably not a bad thing but it makes me sad 😂

CaraConcerned · 31/10/2019 20:44

Ocado bags. Like bin bags. Just absolutely vile.

CaraConcerned · 31/10/2019 20:45

And weirdly, the chilled section of Sainsburys.

Feelingpoorlysick · 31/10/2019 20:47

Hot showers. I love a hot shower but when pregnant I couldn't stand it, it would instantly make me feel sick. I had several months of having to have cool showers and I was pregnant throughout winter. I especially struggled when needing to wash my hair.

hiredandsqueak · 31/10/2019 20:51

The toilet flushing set me off every time.
When the baby (small age gap) I was bottle feeding stopped sucking and the air bubbles rushed up the bottle.
I worked at the job centre and when a certain claimant (smelled awful) walked through the door, I'd be heaving and running to the loo long before he made it to the counter.

Mother87 · 31/10/2019 21:13

Opening the fridge door🤦🏻‍♀️ (an aversion I'm WELL over now!🤣)

Thatsanicepear · 31/10/2019 21:19

Curry. Even now at 30 weeks, if I smell curry I want to throw up. Devastated as usually it's my favourite.

Aneley · 01/11/2019 06:57

Ground meat being cooked.
Scrolling pages on my laptop. (didn't help at work).
Onions (for about 4w).

ineednewhair · 01/11/2019 07:10

Red meat. Coffee. Went off them by week 6. My beautiful DD is 20 weeks now and I'm still not able to eat/drink them!

basicwitches · 01/11/2019 07:58

The kitchen was by far the worst, no matter who's kitchen it was, i was automatically sick!

showmewhatyougot · 01/11/2019 08:20

The warm electrical smell.

Chiltepina · 01/11/2019 10:11

Our puppy. Poor little chap must think he’s done something wrong! We got him two months before I found out I was pregnant and the first symptom was me gagging around him. No amount of bathing or air freshener makes any difference and no one else can smell it! In fact, it’s worse since trying to mask it. I tried to explain to DH that all the plug ins are like someone with body odour trying to mask it with body spray! Hoping it passes so I can have puppy cuddles again soon...

Yellowredpurple · 01/11/2019 12:06

There’s a tin of beans in my cupboard that I can vomit over just thinking about them. I have to shut one eye when I open the cupboard so I don’t see them. Normally love beans.

Lozzy25 · 01/11/2019 12:13

These are all great Grin

I'm also sensitive to the smell of my dogs! One of them is very attached to me and never leaves my side but the smell of him makes me want to be sick Sad

The kitchen is also another one! The look of my kitchen is hideous and if I have to open the cupboards or fridge it makes me heave.

The thought of any food is awful! Apart from one thing I fancy at that exact moment but once I've eaten it that is also disgusting to think about Grin
