We used a angel car sensory matt with our 1st, i dont think i would of slept without it. Im planning on getting another one for our second. They are expensive, usually over 100 but can get deals with argos/mothercare/ asda alot of the time. Keep an eye out on January sales x

You don’t need a baby monitor. If you want one, get one, but don’t buy into the hype that you need one.

As @Sleepycat91 did, I also had an angel care monitor. I’m also 27 weeks and had one delivered from amazon today as they were on offer with 25 off. I’ve had one with two of my children previously but end up giving them away!!

We were gifted a bt sound only one.. couldn’t hear anything short of squealing through it and that put me right off.
I ordered a cheap £20 video monitor on amazon and it’s amazing, pictures clear enough to see and better ironically on night vision, volume controls as it’s ridiculously sensitive (I heard ds fart n snore louder than when he was next to me) and really it helped keep me reassured once he started rolling around so I knew his face was clear and he hadn’t got stuck without opening the door and actually disturbing him.

But you won’t need it till they’re about 6 months or whenever they go into their own room. I had tested it on a couple of naps or in the living room if I wanted to pull weeds/have a nice bath (let me tell if he was content and chatting or fed up)

We have an EZVIZ Mini-O to watch the dog when we're at work and we've now invested in the same to use as a baby monitor. It has sound, night vision, motion activation alerts etc. It's fab! £35 reconditioned from amazon and you can have up to 4 on 1 screen on the app!

We’ve got a Moterola MBP855 video monitor. One of the best bits baby equipment we bought. We used ours from pretty early on.. our daughter got herself into a routine around 8 weeks where she’d sleep in her Snuz from 6pm - 11pm, so we’d do a proper ‘bedtime’ with her, pop her down, have the camera on our bed & go down for our dinner etc!

We still use it now at 2.5 years, I like keeping an eye on her snoozing! I imagine when new baby arrives in March, we’ll start using it for her instead of eldest DD!

We have a Motorola video monitor and you can get one with a sensor pad too. I found the quality of video on Motorola to be a lot better than the angel care ones.
