Ive just found out im pregnant through ivf(which i still cant believe) has anyone else who got pregnant through ivf been told to stop taking progesterone as soon as they get a positive test? Im gettin really worried the past 2days my boobs have stopped hurting and today ive had no cramps..is it just my body adjusting to no progesterone from the pessaries? ANY advice welcome!

I’m in the same boat but still taking progesterone and will be until 12 weeks xx

Progesterone supplements cause horrendous cramps and sore boobs (and bleeding if you have to take them past 4-8 weeks like I did) so it’s hopefully just that. You get a 7 week viability scan right?

@peachesforfree thats whats worryin me everyone else seems to have been told to continue taking them im just wondering why ive to stop soo early tryin not to stress but its hard @GrumpyHoonMain ive got an 8wk scan i think it would be seems soo far away tho

I was given a sufficient amount of Cyclogest to get me to test date, then when that was positive I went in to get more to take me up to the 8 week scan. Following that I’m still on it until 12 weeks but got the impression that’s more due to previous miscarriage. Looking forward to coming off it soon!

Hey, I had a fresh embryo transfer and was advised to stop taking crinone gel pessaries when I got a BFP, but I think you're meant to continue taking them up to 12 weeks for a frozen transfer.

All my symptoms disappeared until six weeks when I started getting a bit of nausea. It's a nerve-wracking time, hang in there.

@2fingers22018 Yes, currently 26 weeks, and so far so good. Apart from three weeks between 8-11 when I was nauseous and constipated I haven't had a lot of symptoms at all so try not to fixate on symptom spotting (easier said than done I know!) some people have every symptom going and others hardly have any, it just depends on how your body reacts to hormones. Congratulations by the way. X

@TwistofFate congrats to u too! Hope u have a happy healthy pregnancy x

@2fingers22018 congratulations. Coming off the progesterone can lead to a drop in symptoms. They will return eventually. I am currently 17 weeks after ICSI ivf and had weeks where I felt nothing then had symptoms and now nothing again. Although I stopped progesterone st 10 weeks I do know other ladies who stopped after test day and have been absolutely fine.

Hi 2fingers22018, 11 weeks pregnant after FET. my clinic asked me to stop at 10 weeks but i asked them if i could stay until 12 weeks as im so worried stop might cause a miscarriage. and they said, yes, stay until 12 weeks.

symptoms come and go, my nausea is much better now, but from 6 weeks til 10 they were every afternoon (mornings i was perfect)

had a bleed at 7 weeks and at EPU everything was fine. then had a private scan at 10 and we saw or baby looking like a baby lol.

i wont be too obsess with symptoms as they are very irregular (at least for me)

all the best of luck
