Ginger tea

I'm pregnant and experiencing awful morning sickness. Every ginger tea I picked up today had ingredients that are apparently dangerous in pregnancy (hibiscus, liquorice root). Does anyone have any recommendations? I made my own tonight but it was very burny and too much effort in the mornings and in work.

Thanks in advance

P.s if anyone has any other tips for all day
morning sickness, that would be great

I couldn't stand ginger and didn't find it helpful. The only thing that actually made me feel better was sipping lemonade - not sure why! Eventually I had to get tablets from the dr as I couldn't eat, sleep or function at all.
Hope you find something to help x

The amount of licorice in one cup of ginger tea is unlikely to be a problem. Looks like you'd need to have quite a bit more to be a problem - though if it has licorice in the name of the tea it will have more and you might want to limit your intake

Make Indian ginger chai:

Boil ginger (about an inch with the skin on), half a tsp of cinnamon powder and half a tsp of cardomom powder in about 2-3 mugs worth of water. You could add mint too

Add 2-3 mugs of milk (if you like milk in your tea), sugar to taste, boil again and then drink.

It gets rid of the nausea and the gas / indigestion. Love it.

Try ginger biscuits they usually work. Or just go with whatever you fancy at the time. That's what I'm having to do to get over the sicky feeling.

Mint tea and ginger biscuits help me when I feel sick. It’s horrible I know, I hope it passes quickly for you OP. Many congrats Flowers

Another thing I found I had a craving for was Honeydew Melon, I read later that it has natural anti sickness properties, which I didn’t know at the time, but it was hydrating and I couldn’t get enough of it! My fridge was full of melons, every time DH went shopping he said do you want anything, get me a melon, but you have got loads of them fridge. Still get me one, I was terrified of running out of them, sounds mad I know. But it did help.

Thanks everyone. The indian chai sounds really good, will give that a go this evening. The melon I will also try.

Hope the chai works, if you feel lazy just chop ginger up into a cup, pour boiling water over and let it steep for a while. That's what I've been having :)
