It could be implantation bleeding if you ovulated slightly later than you thought. But maybe its worth just saying to your dr. I started having brown bleeding at about 6 weeks which went to until 12 weeks a few times turning bright red and then again at 14 nearly 14 weeks after having a scan which lasted about a week. Im now nearly 19 weeks all is good it turns out i have a sub chronic hematoma, that was causing the bleeding especially after scans due to the pressure of it, pushing it out. I have now had 5 scans altogether but all good. But you might feel better if you talk with you dr. Good luck.

Thankyou for replying , I will call dr tomoro if still bleeding , I don't have first midwife appointment until the 10th of December so should I just call my normal doctor ?

I went to see my own dr. She gave me a letter for the hospital asking them scan me early because of the bleeding and i had a mmc in April so she was being curious and trying to put my mind at ease, she told me if i didn't hear from them after a week to ring them well a week later i had heard nothing and i was still bleeding on an off, so i rang the hospital they told me to come straight in, they checked me out and scanned me all was good, but after i got home from it i bleed so badly they did another scan 2 days later they couldnt find anything wrong, foumd out what it was a few weeks later.

Hi!
I am roughly somewhere between 6 and 7 weeks at the moment and I had this last week, went for an early scan the next day and all fine with heart beating away 😊

Shiv90 · 01/11/2019 08:46

Aww good I am hoping they give me a scan to put my mind at ease ,this is my first pregnancy so have no idea what is normal and what isn't ,such a shock aswell because I was on the pill ,my partner has two kids so he is trying to reassure me best as possible x

I’m also 5 week (+4) and I’ve had a little light pink when wiping this week and thought implantation. Today there was a bit of actual blood and I’ve got a little light cramping Sad waiting to see if any more happens and thinking call 111 if it does? Doctors said to go to A&E it bleeding is heavy but it’s not, it’s just a little bit. It’s not easy for me to just get a GP appointment and I’m not with a midwife yet, but don’t want to rush down to A&E unnecessarily as I know some bleeding is normal. I don’t know what I’m meant to do really.

Shiv90 · 01/11/2019 09:19

@BuffaloCauliflower I went to out of hours last night and they referred me to the early pregnancy unit today they were really nice on phone this morning they have told me it is normal but want me to go in for blood test so they can check my HCG levels and go from there ,I am so worried . Phone nhs 24 and hopefully they get u an appointment

Thanks @Shiv90 I called 111 and they advised a walk in centre at a hospital this afternoon. Going this afternoon when DH can come with me. It’s the suspense that’s killing me really, I hate feeling out of control.
So sorry you’re going through this too, hope everything goes well with the blood test x

Shiv90 · 01/11/2019 13:48

@BuffaloCauliflower how did you get on? They done a blood test and said my HCG levels are really high and think high enough to do an abdominal scan so got a scan in morning to make sure everything ok but hoping a good sign that HCG levels are so high so fingers crossed

Had a scan and they couldn’t see anything, no sac so may have already passed it, but bleeding more heavily now so definitely a miscarriage. Couldn’t rule out ectopic so keeping an eye on symptoms but off home to wallow

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 01/11/2019 14:35

I had quite an amount of bright red bleeding at 9 weeks. Convinced I was miscarrying. I'm 36 weeks now. I have everything crossed for you.

Shiv90 · 01/11/2019 14:43

@BuffaloCauliflower hope your ok! Did they do a blood test ?

OP posts:
BuffaloCauliflower · 01/11/2019 15:00

Yes they did, might not get results until Monday though. There was nothing showing on the scan but they can see where I ovulated so it’s a pregnancy of unknown location. She said from the scan and amount of blood it’s pretty much definitely a miscarriage. I’m ok, it is what it is

Shiv90 · 01/11/2019 15:56

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver Thankyou ! My blood test came back as high HCG levels and have a scan in the morning so fingers crossed xx

I didn’t see this thread before posting my own. I think I’m going through the same thing as you @BuffaloCauliflower. My scan results also say pregnancy of unknown location. and my hcg was 11. I’m truly gutted and it was the most traumatic experience of my life. I’m glad that you’re ok @Shiv90 and wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy

BuffaloCauliflower · 02/11/2019 10:43

Sorry to hear that @Scarlettm Flowers they called with blood test results yesterday my hCG is 95 so they think ‘resolving pregnancy’ probably tried to develop in the tube but body said no. Which I guess is the best kind of ectopic, avoiding complications. I need go keep having tests weekly until hCG goes down though. Honestly I’m ok. Yes I’m sad but I was prepared for disappointment from the start, I know the likelihood of miscarriage is high, particularly early in first pregnancies. Doesn’t mean either of us will go on to have trouble later. Just be kind to yourself.

Shiv90 · 02/11/2019 10:52

Had my scan today ,bleeding has stopped and no sign of why I was bleeding ,baby's heartbeat is slow so they want to scan me again in two weeks

OP posts:
BuffaloCauliflower · 02/11/2019 11:13

Flowers @Shiv90 gosh that must be very stressful. The doctor told me yesterday she thought it unlikely to get a heartbeat at 5 a half weeks anyway so that there’s any is a good sign

Shiv90 · 02/11/2019 11:42

Thankyou hope ur doing ok xx

OP posts:
Scarlettm · 02/11/2019 15:49

Glad you’re doing well @Shiv90.
I have my blood results back today and my levels were only 2. so they think it was really early and possibly never got going in the first place.
It’s a shame about yours as well @BuffaloCauliflower, I’m glad it wasn’t serious and your body took care of it. Make sure you take care of yourself as well.

Shiv90 · 15/11/2019 20:58

Just thought I would let you know , had my second scan today and all is well with baby ! Xx

Hey everyone, wanted to jump on.

I started spotting brown on 6/11/19 went to EPAU on 11/11/19 they could find no reason for the spotting and found a sac measuring less than 5 week (I should have been around 7 weeks based on LMP).

A few hours after the scan I began to bleed red. Only when I went to the loo and wiped. I have continued to bleed red and brown since 11/11/19.

I’ve spoken to EPAU but because I’m not having to wear a pad or passing clots or having any pain they’re not concerned and just said they’ll scan me on 28/11/19 which is my next scheduled appointment anyway.

I’m concerned about the bleeding... surely it’s not normal?! I’ve been spotting/bleeding for 10 days now.

Has anyone bled consistently and still had a viable pregnancy? This is longer than any period I’d have but it’s so light!
