Why would I need to do a repeat urine sample?

I had my booking appointment yesterday at 8+4weeks.I gave my urine sample and they sorted it out for me (putting it into the little tube with powder in it) then gave it back to me to hand in at my doctor surgery.
I had a phone call from the surgery today asking me to provide another urine sample in 2 weeks time. I was quite surprised and didn't even think to ask why they need another so just said that's fine and I'll do it.
Now i can't stop wondering if there's something wrong!
Any ideas what reasons there would be for needing a repeat in 2 weeks?

Ring back and ask, could be your just below an infection level and they want to see if it was an anomaly or of you need treatment, could be they didn't get enough the first time. If it was anything really worrying they would call you back in to see them.

Only way to know is to ring back and ask it could be a number of reasons x

Possible they lost it or dropped it & need another sample

Or more likely...

There was a small amount of something in the sample which will probably resolve without intervention but a repeat sample is required to check everything is back to normal

I had to do another one after my booking in appointment... they said it "got spilled during testing" Hmm

Either mislabelled, or there’s “mixed growth” meaning it’s infection starting to grow or contamination from farces/vaginal discharge. A repeat sample normally will confirm either way

I had this. For me it was because they hadn’t noted possible infection but it wasn’t conclusive. Did another sample and same thing so they just put me on a course of antibiotics

Thanks for all the replies! I was thinking they'd lost it or it wasn't enough as it was a very small wee 😂 but it was the waiting 2 weeks that got me confused! Will ring tomorrow :)

I had this and it was because there was pregnancy discharge in my urine x

I had this, I did one at my GP office and then had to do another one when I went for my blood test around a week later.
