Never posted before but going a bit crazy. It's a long story that I won't bore you with all the details of, but I have a 7 year old and then lost a baby 2 years ago - Edwards Syndrome and miscarried at 13 weeks.
Anyway - because of age and other factors have agonised about trying again, and never quite had the courage to go for it. Anyway - after having a 'moment' with the OH on the 12th of October ... we did use protection (I'm not on the pill or coil or anything) I had a weird light bleed 5 days later.
Assumed it was an early period but as was 8-9 days before actual period was due was a little confused. It was lighter than usual - much lighter than recently (I am 47 so pre-menopausal and sometimes heavy) and not very much, it stopped abruptly after 3 days so then I started to wonder/hope if it was implantation bleeding? During this time I also started weeing constantly, much more than usual and also had some mild cramping and quite severe mood swings. I was waking at 3am desperate for the loo! Also my nipples started to look darker.
So my 'proper' period should have been on the 24th October ... it didn't arrive but I had some more cramping around that time for a few days so assumed it was going to happen - but then didn't. Also lower back pain, bloating and wind. Sorry TMI!
It's now nearly 7 days since my 'real' period should have arrived but it hasn't and I've done several pregnancy tests which have all been negative. So just wandering if any of you had a bfp late? Or was that 3 day early bleed my period. So confused.
I'm under a lot of stress at the moment - my dad died 3 years ago and I have a mother who lives nearby who has dementia and just diagnosed with osteoporosis, so could just be stress and peri-menopuase weirdness, but I still keep thinking I might be pregnant. Wishful thinking perhaps, or maybe there's something wrong with me.
Obviously it would be a massive long-shot if I was pregnant but the timing just seems really weird. My periods are usually pretty regular. There's mixed information online about the exact timing of implantation bleeding - some sites say can happen as early as 5 days, some that it would be later ... I just feel off. Burst into tears in the street today!
I guess I just have to wait until the next period appears or doesn't, but just throwing it out there.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated :).
