Hi ladies,

I'm a but confused...I always tboyght a baby didn't really grow much more in the latter stages pregnancy but then read they can gain up to 1lb a week?

I had a presentstion scan yesterday at 36+4 and was told my babies measurements are above the 95th percentile and to expect a big baby (my first LO was 9lbs 4oz). The current weight of my baby is 7lb 13oz and wondering how much weight he can possibly out on in the next 3 weeks or so.

I wouldn't put too much weight on those measurements, they are estimates at best. I was told baby was 9lb 6oz the day before I gave birth to a 6lb 3oz baby. Measurements were not even close for any of mine (I've had 3) and I've heard the same from so many people.

From what I've read I wouldn't take alot of notice of growth scan predictions they seem to get it wrong alot of the time.. my youngest was 9lb 8oz born and I'm predicted from scans/charts to be having a 10lber this time. If they are correct though would predict around 8lb 3/4oz xx

This suggests half a lb a week but I guess if you've got good growers...
