So I FINALLY think I've found a name for baby girl but theres a mum at school who has a daughter in my sons class with this name.. I dont know her very well just a friendly acquaintance. But would it be stealing ? Would you be mad ? Hmm

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It’s not trademarked so I can’t see why not .

No. I would be flattered that you liked the same name and also relieved that my child had not put you off that name. Grin

That's definitely not stealing a name. Go for it!

Absolutely not stealing her baby name!! Don’t overthink it

There isn't such a thing as stealing a name but perhaps be aware if it's an incredibly unusual name or if you are in a small community, it might come across a bit strange.
Only mentioning as I live in a very small town where people like to gossip & this is something they'd thrive on at the school gate🙄

Whilst some do not think you can steal a name, I think you can. However, that is reserved for stealing the name of a family member/friend before they get to it, not for naming your child the same name as another child in the class of a sibling who you are not close to. In this case, go for it.
