I'm 17 with my first and haven't felt any movements yet. Is this normal? Starting to worry ☹️

Yeah, it is. I'm 19 weeks with DC2 and only properly have felt the baby this last week.

Tyrannosaurusdrip · 27/10/2019 21:26

Hi,
I didn't feel anything with my first until about 19 weeks, and possibly about the same with my second.
I went through a spell about 16 or 17 weeks where I didn't feel pregnant, but all good!

abbs1 · 27/10/2019 21:26

@sea6 I'm 17+4 and felt what I think was baby yesterday but could be wrong. It's my first as well after early miscarriage. Some say it can take to week 20-22 before you feel anything that you know is baby so I wouldn't worry. I saw my midwife last week and she said it's too early to feel anything. If you're worried you can ask your midwife but from what other mums have said it's pretty normal at this stage.

Doormat247 · 27/10/2019 21:28

Don't worry, I'm 23wks and haven't felt a thing yet. Your 20wk scan will show the baby kicking away so you'll know then that it's fine.
Apparently mine is going crazy - but I can't feel anything Confused

Sparrowlegs248 · 27/10/2019 21:28

It is normal. I felt ds1 move at exactly 17 weeks, but dc2 not until 21.

SeaBear11 · 27/10/2019 21:29

I’m a week or so behind you with my second and haven’t felt anything. I can’t remember when I felt my first baby but I definitely remember going to my 20 week scan and being asked if I had felt anything which I hadn’t. They said that was normal.

SpadesOfGlory · 27/10/2019 21:31

I think that's totally normal...with my first I felt nudges from just over 16 weeks and the midwife said that was exceptionally early, most first time mums dont feel anything til 19 weeks or later!

THNG5 · 27/10/2019 21:35

Very normal. I didn't feel anything with my first until 20+ weeks.

Turt · 27/10/2019 21:38

Yes. I'm 23 weeks and only started to feel movements this week.

sadtoday21 · 27/10/2019 21:57

I'm 20+3 with my first and have just started feeling the faintest of flutterings in the past two days, mostly only at night. I have an anterior placenta, which blocks the movement until later on - you might have that too?

Sparkle0109 · 27/10/2019 22:14

Yep all normal, I have anterior placenta and didnt feel him til 21 weeks but even then I wasnt 100% sure it was him but now at 25 weeks I know it is.
I've heard it can take longer to feel baby in first pregnancy as you dont really tend to know what it feels like
