Migraines :(

I've always been a migraine sufferer-first sign is when vision in one eye starts to go. If I take paracetamol immediately at that point it's controlled.

What concerns me is the frequency of them; I've had three in four days. I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant.

I suffer from health anxiety and this is making it so much worse!

Anybody else had similar?

Thanks so much.

I'm 5weeks + 6days

I used to get very occasional migraines with loss of vision. They tended to occur most when I was stressed, but even so I could go months without.

I've had two in the last week, with other incidents of patchy vision too. So, yes, I think they can increase in pregnancy. My eyes also feel tired, if that makes sense?

Speak to your midwife, but if I remember correctly from my first pregnancy, there isn't much in terms of medication that you can take.

Best of luck, hope they subside for you Thanks

Migraines tend to either increase or not happen at all in pregnancy. I suffer from horrendous migraines and have had a couple this pregnancy so I think mine have actually decreased. They all happened in the first trimester so they might calm down for you in time. You can only take paracetamol but I’ve found having a can of full fat coke with the paracetamol really helps for some strange reason. My midwife recommended it. X

I suffered with aura migraines pre-pregnancy but not very often, probably only a couple a year. In my first trimester of this pregnancy (I am now 21 weeks) I had at least 4 with visual disturbances. I usually get the wiggly lines or missing bits of vision, however one I had in pregnancy I was seeing splashes of colour that wasn’t there, it was certainly unnerving and as a fellow suffer of health anxiety it certainly doesn’t help!
Having moved into the second trimester I have to say that I haven’t had one yet...famous last words...had a few awful headaches but not the aura symptoms.
Hope things improve for you Rainminusbow Smile
