10 weeks dark blood when wiping

Here again 😢

Yesterday morning about 9.30am I went to the loo, wiped and there was some dark red/brown blood but no pain whatsoever. I panicked as I had a really early miscarriage in August. Went to GP who sent me to A&E and after nearly 4 hours of being passed around I got a scan.... the little bub was fine, 'very active' in fact, so obviously we were thrilled. Saw a gynaecologist and she was happy to let me go home. I hadn't had any more bleeding up to this point. I'd had a pad in since the bleed and there was only a dot on there so I took it out.

We got home about 5.30, I went to the toilet and there was red/brown blood again when I wiped, still no pain at all.

I put a new pad on for bed about 9.30pm, at 5am there wasn't anything in it and there wasn't anything when I wiped but then at 7.30am there was a spot on the pad and blood when I wiped again.

It's still on the darker side which I know should mean old blood and I fell pregnant straight after my miscarriage so I'm hoping it's from that but I feel so anxious right now.

I just don't really know what to do with myself 😔

I can totally understand the worry. I had a bleed last week at 16 weeks and thought it was all over, but they found the heartbeat straight away. I have a history of miscarriages so it’s very distressing to see blood, and for me brown blood is how it always started.

I keep telling myself I must trust the medical staff when they say there is no cause for concern. I know it’s not nice but do trust them that they are happy with how baby is doing at this stage. Also, at ten weeks your risk of miscarriage has dropped massively. They often don’t know what causes bleeding in pregnancy but for me they said when everything stretches it can knock out old blood. I won’t say try not to worry because as long as there is blood there it’s natural to feel anxious, but keep repeating to yourself that they saw an active happy baby in your tummy :)
