30 weeks and It’s hit! Waking up for a wee then bam - awake, either through Braxton hicks or whatever else. Normally it’s 3-5 am, but tonight with a break from routine it’s 10pm onwards!

I’m so fed up, at a time when I really need sleep! Last time round it was like this until the end.

Anyone else want to moan too?!

Yes I totally get it and feel tired and miserable. Mine is usually either between 1-3 or 3-5 due to PGP and sore hands. I'm currently watching bake off re-runs. Wholesome insomnia TV Grin

I'm only 12 weeks.. last time it lasted the whole 9 months, so I guess it will be the same again!

OnlyLittleMissOrganised · 25/10/2019 03:54

Right there with you. I'm 37+6 and can honestly say it only gets worse! And the earlier you try to sleep doesnt help either!

saltandvinegar1 · 25/10/2019 03:57

Boo! I'm 28 weeks. Awake for a couple hours now I guess

Gettingonabitnow · 25/10/2019 04:17

I’m awake again how can this be possible!!

I'm 19 weeks and ever since I got pregnant I have 2 weeks where I sleep great then a week where I really don't and this is that week. Fell asleep after 12 woke half 3. I'm up at 7.. annoying this is I end up not being tired at bed time!

Audiobooks are the only way I could manage, they help get me back to sleep eventually

Babyg1995 · 25/10/2019 06:06

Get audiobooks - something pleasant not a page turner so perhaps a non-fiction about some subject you are interested in. Unless you are sure you won't get back to sleep then you can listen to what you want.
Also a relaxation tape - a long one. I was convinced I didn't sleep after 3am and listened to a relaxation podcast then I realised I hadn't heard the last part of the tape, so, obviously, I'd fallen asleep during it.
But it needs to be a tape you actually find relaxing and not irritating.

I also champion audiobooks!
Sometimes they are the only thing that switch my mind off and even if I don't get back to sleep I am calm and resting. They are my saviour!

BiscuitLover2391 · 25/10/2019 09:41

Had this so badly and only got better when I finished work. Thinking of you!

Pocketrocket2007 · 25/10/2019 10:05

Currently 24&5, I've had this since around week 17. This is my first pregnancy, so nothing to compare it to. Every night I wake up wide awake between 2/3am for a couple of hours. I get about another hour or so of sleep then my alarms going off! Tonight I'm going to try previous advice of audio books. Fingers crossed it helps

Gettingonabitnow · 25/10/2019 10:29

Thanks ladies. I just totally forgot how hard this part was, especially still working full time and now with a toddler. Did you find all pelvic cramps etc were worse at night too?

@Gettingonabitnow I'm 30+3 and feel your pain. Counting down the days to maternity leave -.- it's my first so complete shock to the system!

elvis4nuts · 25/10/2019 16:57

@Pocketrocket2007
If you're not used to listening to audio books then please bare in mind they take a bit of time to get used to. Try listening in the day first so you're not starting a new one at night x

stitchwitch85 · 26/10/2019 15:18

I’m 31 weeks and I’ve had it for a while now, can’t remember the last night I slept through! Mind you I have insomnia at the best of times so it's not really something new to deal with. I’m more worried how I'll cope when baby is here - it's my first so I have no idea what to expect!!

Last night I used podcasts and an anagrams game app on my phone to send me to sleep. I find that when a puzzle is a little tricky, I’m more likely to doze off. The number of nights I’ve woken up clutching my phone 😆

3rdtimelucky2019 · 26/10/2019 15:20

34+1 here. No longer sleeping in my own bed and using podcasts to try and drift off each night. 25 days until maternity leave....!
