So I've obviously given up all my vices (smoking and drinking), getting plenty of fruit and veggies, vitamin every single day and keeping active. Taking care of myself and baby and glad to do so.

Then how come, at 18 weeks, my skin is bumpy and flaky, I'm feeling lethargic and a bit generally like poo? Where's the 2nd trimester glow I've been promised 😭

Yep it doenst exist in my opinion lol
Pregnancy makes your skin more sensitive I always get rashes during pregnancy. I look like I've constantly been dragged through a hedge backwards and like I've not slept for about 5 years haha but that's pregnancy for you unfortunately. Although some women go through it absolutely glowing how I'll never know.

@Boymummy3 Yes to looking dragged through a hedge backwards... I looked like a mole rat going to work this morning, and I don't remember looking/ feeling this siphoned with DS1 lol.

I’m sure it’s all a lie 😂 second pregnancy, never had a glow..

That said, if you feel really tired, get your iron levels checked. Easy to become anaemic. I felt rubbish for weeks in my second trimester last pregnancy & it ended up being anaemia. Felt a million times better by the 3rd trimester after some iron, it was my best trimester!

Yes the baby takes all your best bits.
FOR EVER Grin

22 weeks here and completely understand!

My skin is a riot ! I have more spots now than I had when I was a teen, weirdo patches too, legs are itchy and flaky, don't even wanna mention my feet 🙈

Extra layer of foundation in the morning and have ur fav drink prepared for the day after birth, that's the only thing getting me thro just now

Lxx16 · 24/10/2019 22:05

Sorry to jump in and be the bearer of bad news. 26 weeks and feel like crap! I never had a glow and I'm very doubtful I will get it. People do occasionally come up to me and say how well I look but this is usually on a day when I've washed my hair and put some make up on 😂😂

Current issues are SPD pain, random feelings of nausea, bleeding gums due to an infection purely because I'm pregnant, face full of spots and constipation. I do have to say though I do have a little bit more energy than I did and feeling baby move and kick is amazing!

Lxx16 · 24/10/2019 22:06

Oh and insomnia 😴😴😂

34 weeks here and the only bit I remember of the 'glow' is not feeling absolutely exhausted. I did still feel like absolute shit and certainly didn't have the glow. Final weeks have well and truly hit now and I feel like death, suffering with SPD, insomnia, slight nausea and just overall feeling like I can't be bothered. Thank god my job isn't client facing!

Ive always wondered who these women are who say they 'enjoy pregnancy'.

Im in the same boat. 2nd trimester. Threw up this morning because the bin whiffed ever so slightly.

Redcrayons · 25/10/2019 12:40

I'm had about a week when the morning sickness levelled off before my blood pressure rocketed, iron levels started to drop and the migraines started.

That was the bit when I was 'glowing'. The rest of the time, it was awful.

nocluewhattodoo · 25/10/2019 12:43

The only 'glow' I had during pregnancy was a sheen of sweat from profuse, constant vomiting. I was still being sick during labour. But as I spent most of my pregnancy sitting in various loos no one really saw me

1300cakes · 25/10/2019 12:47

I'm still waiting for my glow to kick in, dc is 18 months old.
