What are the costs for IVF?

Dear all,

DS is almost 5 years old and even though we have been trying for no 2, it has not happened. It is making me extremely sad and I am considering IVF as we really want another child. I am 35 years old and the 'I am getting old' thought is also stressing me out.

Can anyone recommend any IVF hospitals or clinics that they have used, in and around London? And what (total) costs am I looking at?

I can't help with IVF, but have you explored all of the natural options? Fertility investigations? All the tech available, ovulation monitors, temperature monitors etc?

i used the bridge centre london. £6400 so far and they're just frozen as embroyos at the moment.

I would consider Access Fertility - depending on your circumstances, it can offer fixed caps/fees or essentially money back guarantees/refunds if you're unsuccessful. They give you a personalised offer before you commit, based on factors such as any previous miscarriages etc. It can sound a bit clinical, but it does prevent humongous bills, you can choose how many cycles you'd want to do (e.g. there is an unlimited cycles within 2 years options, or a simple 3 cycle option). www.accessfertility.com

If you are willing to donate eggs or sperm then it can be free at some clinics. However usually, via access fertility, you can get 3 basic cycles from 13k (the clinic negotiates what is included) and you need to pay for extras such as medication on top.

No advice re IVF but as PP has mentioned have you explored all other options first? Seen your gp and had tests done and their may be a reason you are not getting pregnant and they can help with tablets and stuff like that, just an option for you incase you havnt explored that yet x
