Hi guys,

I come off my contraception on 21st of August and had a withdrawal bleed up until the 25th but I haven't had a period since. I have taken 2 clear blue digital pregnancy tests. The first said 2-3 which was around a week ago and the second 3+.
The midwife believes I'm 9 weeks without seeing me. But around 20th September I tested negative. So I'm not sure how far along I actually am! Please help!

Tests do stop showing positive once your hormones reach a certain point which is about 9 or 10 weeks so midwife could be correct x

If you tested negative on Sep 20th, then got a positive with 2-3 a week ago, I would guess you are around 5 or 6 weeks pregnant.
The weeks indicator is not totally accurate though.

I think most midwives will date your pregnancy by your last period till you have a scan to confirm dates, even if that is likely to be way off (seems crazy to me, especially if your cycle is wonky coming off contraception, but there you go)

Could you book yourself a private scan soon to put your mind at rest?

So as far as midwife is concerned no matter what they will go from your last period because they have too.

I have irregular periods and had missed 3 before I found out I was pregnant.. after the 1st missed period I had tested and was negative so I knew I wasnt as far along as what I would of been from my lmp but they have to go from that anyway. I was around 14 weeks from lmp and got sent for my '12 wk scan' but I was only infact 9 weeks which I thought I was. So unfortunately until you have your scan you wont actually know how far along you are unless you pay for a private scan. When you got 2-3 ,weeks your classes as 4-5 weeks then 3+ is classed as 6+weeks so I would say your at least over 6 weeks xx
