Pain when baby drops!

I was 31+1 yesterday. Walked my DD down to get her school bus (a 15 min walk there & back) and Braxton Hicks started. Normally a walk kicks off Braxton Hicks but they stop after the walk once I sit down & chill. Anyway the BH didn't stop, had them all day! I'd get an hour of respite & then they would start again, quite powerful ones. Started to think I should ring MW but it's my 4th so knew it wasn't labour.
About 8 last night the pain was intense, ended up going to bed to try stretch the limbs out & change position, didn't work. Again was on the verge of ringing hospital when they stopped.
I'm thinking they were a cross of BH & maybe baby dropping, ligament pain, because I woke up yesterday with an awful heavy feeling but is it not too early for baby to drop on 4th pregnancy!? No BH today thankfully but still have that heavy feeling when I stand! Can't see a noticeable difference with my bump but think it might be a bit lower but my bump is fairly neat so I prob wouldn't notice anyway!!
Can anyone shed any light on yesterday's pain! Afraid it's a sign that I may not go to 40 weeks
