10+3 weeks?! What does it mean?

I am wondering if someone can explain the weeks of pregnancy + x concept.

My wife is 5 weeks and a few days pregnant and we were enquiring about the Harmony test.

The lab says they do it from 10+3 weeks ? And we're like what ? Is it 13 weeks?

It's the number of weeks plus the number of days. So 10+3 is 10 weeks and 3 days.

The test can be taken from 10 weeks 3 days pregnant. The + number is days

No! What you mean is 10+3 = 10 weeks & 3 days.

So if I said your wife was 5+6 it means she's 5 weeks and 6 days pregnant. The 7th day would just be 6 weeks then after the 7th day it's 6+1 so you only even count up to +6 as the week will change on number 7.
