Anyone else in second trimester and getting tension style headaches? I’m drinking and eating enough, although get up to pee a lot in the night so sleep is disrupted. Don’t want to jump to pre eclampsia panic and worrying is a full time hobby. Had urine test yesterday at midwife appointment and all ok other than trace blood in urine so testing for possible UTI.
Just not sure why the headaches - anyone else?

Could just be your hormones does paracetamol help? I went through a stage where I was having to take tablets daily because of headaches it soon passed though. Did you mention to midwife? If she isnt concerned then its probally nothing to worry about try get as much rest as possible xx

I had headaches constantly throughout my whole pregnancy OP. I just made sure I mentioned them at every GP Appt/MW Appt so they knew exactly what was going on. But I think mine was just down to losing lots of sleep, hormones raging and pure exhaustion!

Haven’t had a headache since DC was born 12 weeks ago though Smile even with the new and worse lack of sleep!

I've had headaches too OP, they started around 8 weeks and I think I had one most days until around 22 weeks roughly. They went but they've just come back at 34 weeks. My midwife suggested paracetamol, getting my eyes tested and getting someone to go to a pharmacy and buying co-codamol over the counter as they don't give it to pregnant women but she said it's perfectly safe!

I've just put it down to hormones now and keep topping up with paracetamol

This isn't supposed to worry you at all, but I thought I'd just let you know my situation.

I've been getting headaches (I thought stress) went to the docs and at 14 weeks had high blood pressure. I went back and it was still high so I was put on blood pressure tablets (obviously not a pre-eclampsia worry yet, but the docs said it can be a precursor. I generally get headaches when I do too much and get breathless or when I'm tired in the evenings.

Hope everything's ok for you. Xx

I've had headaches for about 8/9 weeks now. I'm not a headache sufferer and never had these with first pregnancy. I also have low blood pressure. I'm quite worried. I've had some dental work done, though dentists says headache is not related. Who knows? I'm off to GPS again soon.

I had a lot of headaches around this period of my pregnancy - they were normally solved almost entirely by a nap and/or a couple of paracetamol, though could hang on a big longer if they were stubborn. As others said, hormones can be to blame and also possibly the physical changes in your posture and body as baby gets bigger. I am quite prone to headaches so they didn't worry me too much, just tried to be gentle with myself and manage them as best I could. A day of rest at home might do you the world of good, if you can get away with it!
