Hi all thanks for reading.

I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago, and contacted the GP to let them know and filled in a MW referral form.

But I've still not heard anything, I'm not too worried but when I did my test it said 3+ which I'm suspecting is about 6-8w and would really like to know everything seems ok.

When I was pregnant with my son, they saw me the same week. How long could this possibly take or should I maybe ring them and see what's going on?

In my area they didn't contact me until I was 14 weeks. Booking in had all changed since dd1.

Boymummy3 · 23/10/2019 14:43

You only get your booking in app around 8/9 weeks. How far are you from your lmp? As I persume they will go off that not off your clearblue test x

Pinkflipflop85 · 23/10/2019 14:49

Didn't see midwife for booking in until 10 weeks.

NC'ed

About 6w+6d, I wasn't totally sure at the time of referral though. Thanks for the responses.

I didn’t see midwife until 11+4 as that was the first one they had even though I phoned to book around 8 weeks.

mrsc1987 · 23/10/2019 16:59

I rang and referred myself and got my appointment over the phone, im 6 +2 and first app is tomorrow

1ce1cebaby · 23/10/2019 18:21

I didn’t hear anything until 12 weeks and was seen at booking in apt at 14+1

Monique007 · 23/10/2019 19:13

I’ve seen midwife at 10+4. It changed a lot the past year.

Chips4dinneragain · 23/10/2019 20:36

I rang my local midwifery service at 9 weeks as hadn't heard from them and they told me they had never received the referral, probably worth a phone call to see if you are on their radar. I work for the NHS and have seen plenty of referrals go amiss, they wouldn't object to you calling and asking when you should expect an appointment.

Midlandsmum23 · 23/10/2019 21:47

As you're only around 7 weeks now, I'd give them a call if you haven't heard from them in a week's time. I'm sorry to say, and I don't mean to cause offence, but midwives don't tend to pay pregnant women much attention until they are around 9 to 10 weeks. Their focus is on women who are further on in their pregnancies.

Skyblues1 · 24/10/2019 11:47

Thanks everyone for your responses, I am aware I'm not very far gone. But as this was an unplanned pregnancy and I'm not totally sure how far gone I actually am (from conception) I'd like to know.

Also I've had a few symptoms I didn't have last time like brownish blood in my discharge sometimes faint pink, im not particularly concerned but was waiting till I had my appointment to mention these things.

Also kind of unrelated but I've seen on MN several mothers saying they've had scans at around my gestation, is it that they probably have specific reasons or these, or paid private etc?

Pinkflipflop85 · 24/10/2019 12:23

Paid private or for specific medical reasons.
