Mothercare Journey Travel System

Just wondered if anyone has experience of this product. It is cheaper than most travel systems and at some point I will pop in to take a look but it's not the same as using it every day in the real world.

I appreciate on these type of threads people often comment that it depends how I will be using the product so here goes...I will be using it daily when walking dog around park (path and gravel). It will also be used for walking into town for shopping and to get to local baby groups. I will only be using the car a couple of times per week to go visit friends or for activities further afield. At some point the car seat will be used for longer journeys (3 hrs plus) to visit family but we will obviously be making regular stops so he isn't in the car seat too long.

It looks alot like an upgrade from the mothercare orb ....which is what I had and it was far too narrow and baby outgrew it within 6 to 9 months.

DS still uses this at 2, I found it great. It doesn't fold up small so takes up most of the boot but very good for every day use considering the price.

My friend was gifted a travel system, her brother gave her one that had ‘hardly been used’ (I don’t know which make, but a good one, bugaboo I think) and she was grateful. But when she received it it was a bit grotty and not what she had had in mind. She hadn’t budgeted for a new set so she had to go with a cheaper option.
She chose the Journey and she loves it. Her babe is a couple months old now and she has a busy dog so she’s out and about with it a lot.
It’s a decent system. Don’t be put off by the price. Most of the higher end systems are priced for the name only, and are no better quality than the own brand.

You will always get opinion on a subject like this. I am expecting my first baby, and I’m not too proud to choose second hand. I have a cosatto wow and it cost me less than £200. It’s worn in places, but it’s also got genuine brand new parts that I got from the cosatto site to replace tired parts. I enjoyed doing that too! 😊

I have bought one but haven't tried it yet (baby due next month). I checked it out in the shop and it seemed sturdy enough, which is what I needed as I don't drive so rely on public transport.
A lady I work with, her daughter has one also. Her son is now 8 months and starting to grow out of the car seat but a part from that it has been very durable. She bought a silver cross for her first child, the mother care journey for her second and said that the quality is just as good as the silver Cross! I think it is all about the brand when it comes to cost tbh. Apparenlty the raincover can be a bit of a pain in the backside though but that can be easily replaced with another.

Also mothercare regularly have deals on with the journey pram, I got mine for a £100 less on one deal so it is good to keep your eyes out for that :)

I have one! It’s great. We use it for short car journeys and the car seat clips into the frame fine. I mostly use the pram for short walks in the park and around the neighbourhood and even with all the crap pavements nearby it’s really sturdy. Goes well over grass and pavement etc.

Thanks everyone. I will definately visit mothercare to take a proper look. I have also been keeping my eye out for second hand bargins but there are so many different brands and versions I often get confused when trying to compare!

I went with the journey after trying it out in store a few times and reading mostly very positive reviews. Baby is due in Jan so hoping it will be good! Dh and I couldn't believe the cost of some of the travel systems!
