39 weeks pregnant and had sporadic and pretty
Painless cramps for 2 days. Tonight I've been been woken up a few times with stronger cramps and my body seems to have had a bit of a clear out. Is this it? There is not regularity to these pains yet and I've managed a bit of sleep in between then. Does this sound like labour to anyone? Also my husband is due to leave for work at 7.30am, shall I ask him to stay at home or could I be facing another few days of this? This is baby number 2 but I was induced last time so it's hard to compare. Any opinions welcome?

Braxton hicks. It will get way worse. Birth 1 or 2 weeks away.

Sounds a bit like how my labour began.

Started in the Saturday 11pm just cramps, all through Sunday and Monday. Got more painful Tuesday morning.

I never had a show, my waters didn't break, my contractions didn't even get to 3 every 10 minutes. We went in to be assessed at 9.15am, they took me straight to delivery and my son arrived at 9.38am.

I suggest you call the mat unit and ask for some advice, they may tell you to take pain relief and a bath. I called them twice the day my son arrived, first call I was told to take pain relief and lay down for an hour, see if anything changes and call back. Called back after half an hour as contractions were just getting unbearable, had a contraction on the phone to the midwife, she said to come in.

I think baby will be with you in the next 24 hours from my experience. Good luck!!!

Sounds a lot like it, but maybe a day or so to go? I’d let him go to work as long as he isn’t hours and hours away to get home. Good luck x
