Hi I'm new to this but was wondering if anyone could help me.. my wife is pregnant through ivf, shes now 7 weeks and 4 days but has had on off spotting for the last 2 weeks, we informed midwife who wasnt really concerned as there is no pain along with the bleeding. It's not bright blood it's a rusty colour, I'm staying positive as I've read on the internet it can be a number of things but was wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation and could give me any more info? Thank you

All the info says it's nothing to worry about unless heavy or painful although I've got no idea how they expect you not to worry. Have you contacted the fertility clinic? We were given a viability scan at 7 weeks but they also booked me in for an earlier scan at the epu as I had some pain at 6 weeks. Also is she still on progesterone pessaries? Sometimes they can cause spotting if they irritate the cervix but they can also increase the dose to stop light bleeding.
Maybe try your gp if your clinic can't help.
I really hope it all works out for you.

Flowers it’s so worrying, try not to panic, dark/rusty blood is old blood and hopefully nothing untoward but things shifting inside as your baby grows and beds in nicely.

No pain is the main thing, keep track of how much there is and try to keep each other calm and distracted. Good advice to contact your clinic for their advice.

Wishing you both well.

Thank you. Yea it is hard not to worry but there has been no pain and were going to epu Thursday morning so should get a better picture there. Yea she is still on them pessseries fo you think we should inform the nurse about maybe upping the dose?

I went straight in to A&E with a very slight brown colour on wiping and they sent me up for scan in the early pregnancy assessment unit, sadly mine turned out to be a missed miscarriage. A week later it was heavy.

Please don't take it as nothing go to hosp it push doctor to refer for scan, if anything you get to see baby on screen a little earlier x

Good luck

Go with advice from the clinic but I was on progesterone pessaries and my consultant doubled my dose after a bleed at 9 weeks. That was bright red and heavy though, caused by a clot which then disappeared without further bleeding.

I had no pain at that point. Not trying to worry you but being honest. Wishing you all the luck x
