Hi all, I went for my 12 week scan today and was told the baby died at 7 and a half weeks. I've got to call tomorrow and arrange to discuss options but I want this next bit over with as soon as possible so think I'll opt for D&C. I'd really prefer a general anaesthetic though, does anyone know if I can insist on this? Xxx

When I had mine, GA was standard, there was no mention of doing it awake. It was a very quick procedure, very little physical pain or bleeding afterwards. I'm sorry for your MC Flowers

I had this too. Had a general. I’m so very sorry this has happened to you. Flowers

I'm so sorry. I had a D&C 8 years ago and was under GA. Hopefully you can insist on this. It's very quick. Felt very tired afterwards but that was probably the GA more than anything else.
