Hi all,

I’m in my 31st week of pregnancy now and seem to have contracted sciatica in the right side of my back. Making everyday tasks really difficult and i’m in agony pretty much 24/7. Paracetamol isn’t even touching the pain and hot water bottles and stretches are only temporary pain relievers. Has anyone had this and been able to get rid of it as i’m dreading having this for the next nine weeks🥺

Not much help to you but I'm 33 weeks and experiencing the exact same thing :(

fizzybubblepop · 21/10/2019 18:59

I had sciatica really bad when I was pregnant. I still get it now a bit no where near as bad though. My midwife recommended that I alternate hot and cold therapies ie hot water bottle for a while followed by ice pack which did work a bit but to be honest nothing helped that much.
I really hope you find something that will work for you.

I had this too and can really recommend seeing a chiropractor, it massively helped me. I wish I'd gone sooner, I suffered with so much pain for weeks and weeks!

I had it. Excruciating pain. A chiropractor sorted it out. Make an appointment ASAP.

26+1 here and I think I've also got it. It kills!! I cant even drive much anymore as it hurts sitting, hurts standing, hurts whilst driving! Hope you get some relief soon xx

Mintypea5 · 21/10/2019 19:26

It's basically crippled me. The only way I can stay mobile is to see a private chiropractor 2 x a week for some relief. They do an adjustment, trigger point therapy, acupuncture and massage.

the past three days have been awful, i’m here staring at things that I need to do and I physically cannot stand up longer than a few minutes. I’ve tried walking up the road to see if it relieves it at all and it just makes it worse🥺

You can try using a tennis ball against the wall to massage your glute area because a lot of sciatic pain starts in that area when the muscles squeeze the nerve. I've suffered with it for years on and off but it's been almost constant since about 6 weeks. Just start off gently without putting too much pressure to see if it helps.
