Early Scan

Hi all,

I had an early scan this morning where the sac was very visible including the embryo, there wasn't any signs of a heartbeat, but the senior nurse said she wasn't 100% concerned as it could still be early to show? I am currently 5 plus 6 days, I have googled it and it says between 5.5 to 6.5 weeks is when the heartbeat shows visible on the ultrasound.
I came on my period 10th Sept. Me and my partner used a doner and self inseminated on the 23rd Sept as that was when it started to show I was starting to ovulate.
The nurse has booked me in for another scan next Monday.
I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else? Obviously my emotions are everywhere but I am trying to be hopeful in the fact I could be still really early?
I am healthy and already have had a healthy child who is nearly 6. I had no complications with my previous pregnancy.

I had a scan at 5+3 and there was no heartbeat at that time. I was scanned again at 7+1 and there is was beating away.

I had a scan at 5+4 no heartbeat rescanned at 7+4 and heartbeat got my 12 week scan today try not to worry xx

Did you have an internal scan or abdominal scan?? Heartbeats dont usually get seen till after 7 weeks so definitely try not to worry xx

had a a scan at what i thought i was 5w5d and was dated back to 5w1d we sac sac and yolk but no baby. went back 10 days later and baby was on day at 7w3d and lovely heartbeat. i do think its the same for you, too early. all the best

Very normal! I had a scan around 5 weeks i thought i was around 7 weeks but i wasn't but i went a week later and the heartbeat was flickering away i was 6+2 and im currently 7+5 now so fingers crossed when you get your scan again there will be a little heartbeat flickering away x

I thought I was 6+1 today and just came home from an early scan. There was no mention of a heartbeat but they said I am more like 5+5 due to late ovulation so they are happy that the sac is there and had no concerns. I felt really deflated but your message came at a perfect time and made me feel much better so I hope this one makes you feel better too ☺️🌈

Did you see your scan? Did it look a little like mine?

@MrsD20 i felt like that too after my first scan as i had thought i was a little further on than i even thought and yes thats how my scan looked
