Episiotomy and forceps

My first sons birth didn't go to plan. He was breach and I had to have a version and was in labor for 3 days before having an episiotomy and forceps which resulted in a 3rd degree tear. I'm not complaining. I got the two things that were really important to me- delayed cord clamping and immediate skin on skin contact and breastfeeding. The doctor advised me to have a cesarean for future babies. I've read that some women actually help to deliver themselves. (no curtain, pulling the baby out yourself, delayed cord clamping and immediate skin on skin) It's something I'm really interested in and would like to know anyone's opinion or if anyone has had one and how it was.
