Nipples!

I’m nearly 13 weeks have my dating scan next Thursday and I’ve been relatively lucky I’m not feeling too sick but for the last 2 weeks my nipples (especially my right one?!) has been on and off unbelievably painful.
Earlier on in the pregnancy it was my whole breast felt a little uncomfortable but now it’s just the nipple itself and quite a Sharp almost stabbing pain, especially if I’m even the tiniest bit cold. They change colour when then hurt almost look like blueberries and then absolutely kill!

Anyone else have this?
Dread to think about breastfeeding in the future if this is anything to go buy!

Hello, had to jump on because I have the same. At first I couldn’t find anything on the internet. It’s all about breast tenderness which Is not what I have! My boobs would go agony for anything from a couple of minutes to 15/20. I’m now 37 weeks and after trawling the internet I finally found out I had raynauds. It’s more common in breastfeeding and not very in pregnancy. I can’t help you because if anything it’s gotten worse for me as my pregnancy has progressed. You can’t take any drugs for it whilst pregnant but you can whilst breast feeding so don’t worry about after the pregnancy. I went to the doctor and broke down it was getting me down that much. I’ve just accepted it now 😂 all you can do is try and prevent and attack coming on by keeping your boobs warm etc. Have a wee google to see if your seems the same and good luck! As they say it will all be worth it in the end 😂🙄

Ohh thanks - I’ll have a look - heard of raynauds in hands and fingers etc but not in this context!
Yes I had the same issue that none of the stuff I’m reading about matches what I’m feeling it’s definitely a completely different feeling to breast tenderness!

No problem! Not a good time of year for it ❄️ 😅 I’ve found that that nothing really helps once it starts bar sitting infront of a electric blower fire. Prevention is key with this! 👏🏻 If you do find any remedies - let me know!

I had Raynauds of the nips during pregnancy and agree it is excruciating. I recall I struggled in supermarket chiller aisles a lot! All you can do is keep them as warm as possible as a PP said.
But on a positive note once baby arrived it disappeared for me, I BF for 18 months painlessly Smile

I had this and boy was it a real nightmare! Just absolutely freezing painful nipples! Not great when you work with kids and are outside an awful lot. I think I had it with all three pregnancies and never brought it up with the midwife. Brrrrr!!! Not nice at all!

PixieDustt · 20/10/2019 22:59

I had a burning sensation in my nipples for about a week at 16 weeks I wanted to cry felt like they were on fire. Thankfully it went!

Yes, I had this. Trying wearing breast pads. The reusable bamboo ones are the nicest.

Thanks everyone nice to know it’s not just me! Googling raynaulds and nipples in pregnancy it does sound just like what I’m experiencing.
I’m trying to keep warm and wear a vest top under everything - helps abit but at times it’s just horrible!
Will look at breast pads as well!
