Help! Weird GTT results I think

I’ve just got my GTT results back and they look strange to me. The sample from before taking the glucose drink was 7.6 mmol/l while both the samples from 60 min and 120 min were 4.6 mmol/L. Surely this can’t be correct? I’m not medical at all and would like an opinion from someone who knows a bit about it.

I had the test at 9.30 in the morning and had fasted from about 8pm the night before.

Could the tests may have been mixed up? Clearly I may have a GD issue but just wondering why my sugar level was high before I had the glucose drink.

Mine went down from the pre-glucose to the 2 hour after glucose but docs weren't bothered and wrote it off. My measurements were all less than 5.5 though... I think they'll want to test you again or get you to rest yourself to rule out GD.

I had a similar result, it’s called reactive hypoglycaemia. (If I remember the explanation correctly) I was told by the diabetes specialist midwife that sometimes the drinks used cause an ‘over reaction’ and your body goes into overdrive to combat the sudden sugar insult, and you over produce the insulin to deal with this (temporarily). Unless you are suffering any symptoms of reactive hypoglycaemia it’s generally not a concern. If you’re concerned by the result, ask you midwife to look into it further

Sorry I clearly didn’t read the post properly. I’m not sure why it would be high before, but my explanation might be why it was low after.
If you’re concerned then ask to be retested.

Your fasting sugar is too high but your body can cope with the added sugar from the drink.

You might be out on a tablet at night to control if.
