Sterilisers

It's been a few years since my last babies, so sorry for the stupid post. Does everyone use electric sterilisers or anyone still use cold water sterilisers?

We used the Tommy Tippee electric one last time, found it very good. We used Dr Brown bottles and fitted 3 in at once. This time though, think I’m going to get some self sterilising MAM bottles that you do in the microwave! We travel to family a lot & it’d be very handy not to lug the steriliser!

I’ve got friends who used Milton tablets/cold water though! Just seemed the more expensive option & knowing me, I’d run out of tablets when I needed one!

We used a microwave steriliser as we had an electric steriliser for the first few weeks and I noticed that it wasn't actually getting through the full sterilising process which meant that our bottles hadn't been sterilised properly while using it. We decided to get a microwave one so we knew that it was working each time

Bought a nuby electric steriliser that has 3 cycles. Sterilise only, Sterilise band semi dry, Sterilise and full dry.

It was half price in boots, fits 5 bottles at a time. Is slim, in sections easy to store.

We used a cold water steriliser and know several people who started off with an electric or microwave one who ended up switching to cold water because it was easier!

I used cold, just found it easier, wash & dump in box until needed...viola!

We have the MAM sterilising bottles, they are FANTASTIC. I would 100% recommend them. You can sterilise 1 bottle in 3 mins or several at a time which takes a bit longer. Great not to have a bulky steriliser hanging around and brilliant for travelling.

I used cold water steriliser with Milton for my daughter and will use the same for this baby when he's here. I found it so much easier to just wash bottles and put them straight in the steriliser. We used nuby bottles and could fit six bottles with teats and lids in at a time

I used a cold water steriliser as they showed me how to at hospital and it was so easy. The lovely electric / steam one I bought has never been out the box.

We used a cold water one too, figured it was a cheap option and we could get a microwave or counter top one if we didn't get on with it. Worked well for us, the tablets are cheap and I kept it in the cupboard so it wasn't taking up counter space
