im currently 22 weeks and 6 days
on tuesday my whole life turned upside down
i was 4 cm and my cervix had opened with the babies membranes visible
an amazing doctor took the chance of doing an emergancy cervix stitch which i am so pleased to say worked
i am now 3 days post op and i am being discharged home on bed rest and oral auntibiotics
i am hoping and praying my little boy stays put for as long as possible, every day counts, every hour counts.
i am 24 years old and this is my first baby , please send positive thoughts and energy my way and say a little prayer x

Hope all is ok. It sounds like a very scary thing to happen. Fingers crossed everything goes well for the rest of your pregnancy.

Hi, really hope your feeling better, I'm so happy to hear you was able to get an emergency Cerclage. You need to take it super easy. We're you given any internal scans prior to finding the out? My now 1 and half year old was born at 26+3 and I am now pregnant with my second at 20 weeks, I have been monitored closely and given regular internal scans to see if my cervix is shortening which it has been so I am now on progesterone treatment called cyclogest and may be given the stitch if they don't work. Sending positive thought and prayers your way.

Thankyou for your reply, it gives me a boost of confidence to hear that. Is your 1 and half year old perfectly healthy and well now? That’s amazing. No my 20 week scan was perfectly normal and I was a low risk pregnancy so it all came as a shock for me on Tuesday last week, they think it was caused by an infection as my infection levels where very high and white blood cells so hopefully the auntibiotics have stopped whatever it was & he stays put for as long as possible, I am now good to have regular checks every 2-4 weeks to check no infection has come back, thankyou

My now 1 and half year old is a very happy & healthy baby, it took a while to get here but it was all worth it, he spent 102 days NICU and was sent home on oxygen which sounds scary but you'll do anything to make sure your baby will be ok. When I delivered my son at 26 weeks they indicated an infection that wasn't picked up by urine or any other tests they did, in haooy to hear they have picked it up with you and treating the infection. I hope your feeling a bit better now and your baby will be just fine. My advice would be, if you notice any changes or your gut feeling is telling you something isn't right, don't hesitate to go to the hospital to be checked. I'm sure you'll be fine, if you need any more advice please feel free to message me Flowers

I just had my cerclage today. I was at 1.3cm and starting to dilate (almost 22 weeks). I was shocked as well! But happy we had it done! I hope he stays in long enough. Its good to hear birth at 26 weeks was a sucess. This is my second baby. My first I had no issues. This time around its been issue after issue! I am not on bed rest but I am being super cautious!
I go on progesterone tomorrow. Wonder if bowel movements were an issue at all. I am worried about infection!!
