28 week growth scan?

I've just had my 28 week growth scan as my BMI is high, ive been checked for diabetes and the results were normal... but now my baby is showing in the 92nd percentile by this scan? Should I be concerned?
Has anyone else had this?
I feel really alone in this as midwife was a bit like oh well it's just a big baby?

I'd take growth scans with a pinch of salt.
Also - 92nd percentile, by definition, means that 8% of all babies are above the 92nd percentile. So I wouldn't worry too much, unless there are other factors!

Do you have another growth scan coming up?

The measurements can be a bit off in growth scans so don't take them as gospel. As long as baby is growing within the ranges then they tend not to be too concerned.

Do you have anymore scans? I have high BMI had a 28, 32 and 36 week scan. As long as baby is all fine and following their expected growth they prob won't have any concerns.

You might find ten consultant wants to induce you at due date or earlier if baby is set to be very big.

I also passed my GD test and baby is already 6lb 4oz at 36 weeks! Seems massive to me as both my others were 7lb something but midwife said it's all fine. I'm being induced on due date for other issue big consultant said they'd also be happy to leave me be with monitoring if I wanted

Thank you both for responding, I have another scan booked but not till week 34
They are sending me for further blood sugar measurements as they are convinced it's diabetes even with a result saying it's not?
I guess I'll just have to wait and see, no-one has said anything about inductions or anything at what point did they mention that?
When the midwife measured my bump she measured me at 31 weeks but I'm only 28+1?! I'm now freaking out that I'm going to have this massive baby?!

@splishandsplash my consultant mentioned induction at my 33 week appointment but o had a high risk pregnancy and complications last time so not massively linked to babies size this time. Although I have awful PGP and sciatica that's crippling me
So I'm happy to be induced when they're ready.

You should see a consultant after all York growth scans than will talk through it all with you but as long as you and baby are ok they may not suggest induction.

Also the tummy messy menu is rather inaccurate anyway but with high BMI it doesn't really work well (my midwife doesn't do mine because of that just have my growth scans)

Is this your first baby?
At my 24 week app I was measuring 28 weeks. Got sent for GTT and a growth scan just to check. Baby is on the top line but hes following it so they ain't concerned just said hes probally going to be a big baby lol (my last was 9lb 8oz so I'm not surprised) at 25 week hes current approx 2lb so god knows what hes going to end up full term lol.

Dont worry yourself they always want to do tests/checks to see why baby measuring big/small to rule everything out but as others have said they can be so off majority of the time. Xx
